MURUKKU RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
1.Raw rice 1 cup
2.Blackgramdal ½ cup
3.Salt to taste
4.Butter 2 tsp
5.Sesame seeds 1 tsp
6.Cumin seeds 1 - 1 ½ tsp
7.Coconut oil / Oil enough for deep frying
PREPARATION
1.Soak the rice 2 - 4 hrs, wash, drain and spread on a towel to get
dry (30mts), set aside.
2.Dry roast the dal, powder. Set aside.
3.Mix the rice powder with half the dal powder, add salt, butter
and mix well with the powder with the hand. Add sesame, cumin
and asafoetida powder, mix well, knead into a chapathy like dough
adding just enough water.
4.Press down through the single star disc placed in the sevanazhi mould
into 3 - 4 rounds, fry in hot oil 4 - 5 each a till crisp, drain, set aside.
