A new cover for the Kaaba, known as Kiswah, was installed Sunday, which marks the Hijri New Year in Saudi Arabia’s Mecca.
The cloth is woven from silk and cotton and adorned with verses from the Quran.
A new one is made annually to be placed on the Kaaba in Mecca's Grand Mosque.
The event marks a significant ritual in the Islamic calendar as Muslims prepare to welcome the new lunar year.
