Only just tripped over this music and dance. Once the music would have seemed exotic and strange to Western ears, but today: this music hits all the buttons for Trance EDM. If you played a track of this music during a rave, I don't think many people would notice the difference. This is very exciting to me, because Laperise dance music is effectively a anticiedent musical tradition to EDM, using acustic instruments. The dance itself is of course on a different planet and is mesmerising: So much physicality making the illusion of minimal movement. The result is a room humming with energy, yet peacful and graceful. Awesome.
