This reminds me of a quote by Rumi. “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” ― Rumi

You are exactly the person I need to be speaking with. I think people are Theophobic because they believe that the only way to get to "know God" is through religion" and I really want to know God, but I am not ready to accept religion as the means to it. I feel it needs to be in layers. Not too many Rabbis in the Orthodox world can distinguish between the 2, and I believe that that's a huge loss. How do I get in touch with you? For me, I want to first, know God and 2nd, believe that He loves me.

I go three steps: Not only is the "infinite" the only real power, but in making me in the image of God, the infinite is only a part of me... So I can no longer tell Infinity not to include something, haha. Then I marvel at the fact that it IS this aspect of infinity... this having everything, in all time - is what gives infinity its power in the first place. So I marvel in the ONENESS of it. But there is a third step that I take: I enlarge myself around the oneness - to the "nothingness" that creates the oneness; which is the Zero. And that's what quiets my mind to have capacity to hear and act with God. My analytical mind needed this because I tend to look at the oneness of infinity as only a separate "thing", causing me to feel bereft. Celebrating the oneness from the point of view of the nothingness that creates it - reveals why the present is called a "present", haha.

Why does the cameraman film feet in the middle of an explanation? Or film the interviewer while the rabbi is giving an explanation? Why walk around the rabbi and film the back of his head when he is explaining the subject? WHY??

Yeah he's going for that "run and gun" style. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Depends on the style of the piece and the subject being filmed.

ha and then to think that for most people Kaballa means some kind of dark magical secret that only certain Jews seem to know (but of course that is also closely related to the other meaning of 'kabballah' being a group of conspirators, if im not mistaken).

Can anyone explain something to me. I am an agnostic atheist and I've been reading about Kabbala and this definition of God is really awesome and much better than the idea I've previously had but I just don't understand how Kabbalah's teaching match with the Torah. The Torah is full of instruction to punish and kill for little things that we know today do not make you a bad person but this guy is saying that the whole point is to realize we are all one and he mentions that we wouldn't want to hurt anyone if we knew we were all one. But the Bible literally says to stone people to death for simple things that say nothin about who you are as a person. How do these resonate? Please help me understand.

The Torah is a traditional, ritual text - Kabbalah is a way of understanding cosmology and morality. Seeking a ‘match’ might not be fruitful!

I don't get it, doesn't this mean then we really can do what we want with no consequence? There is nobody keep track, and there is no higher consciousness observing and watching our consciousness and actions? Not even a higher self? What stops people from just doing evil with that knowledge knowing there is no other being observing us.

He only covered a small portion of the concept of understanding god in this video. I found it quite interesting. My father who also studies kabbalah once told me that at your time of death several things happen, i wont go into all the details but one is that your soul will have to go through a phase of purification. To get rid of all the bad and the negatives that you collected. He described it as "imagine the process of purifying gold." To me it sounds like the phrase "burn in hell" fits perfectly... i guess the more evil the person is, the more time he will spend there.

@@MeShuGwa interesting.. Similar concept of the bardo thodol Buddhist book of the dead, if not liberated from the peaceful visions, then the wrathful visions come who the person just needs to know are the peaceful visions in Disguise, trying to catapult you into attaining liberation since you failed to do so with the peaceful visions.

Every harm you inflict on others, you also do to yourself. When you die, God won't be the judge of you, you will. You will judge yourself, and don't take comfort in thinking, ok when i'm my judge, then everything will be fine. No, your religious beliefs in live won't do anything for you then. Even when you thought you did the right thing because your Religion told you its ok to kill these and those. That you "did gods work". No. You'll be hard judge and the hell that can await you, is the hell you'll create yourself, you'll put yourself to hell, not god. And you'll stay there until you forgave every one that you thought harmed you in and way, and forgave yourself for your deeds, thoughts and words. If you harm others in life, the damage you do to yourself is beyond your understanding. See how hard you often even judge yourself in life already, you'll judge yourself even harder when you'll leave your body behind. Blessed are those who don't carry hate, violent thoughts, grudges against others with them, because they won't taste judgement nor a hell of their on creation.

From the first lesson of Eve, when common sense, & now research, tells us random breeding, including rape, wife trophies, `gold digging`, one-night stand slip-ups, etc doesn`t help, the Kabbalah would be handy. Only problem is we need common sense/God to figure that out. For eg. did David ever ask God if he should accept Saul`s daughter as his wife (breeding partner). I don`t think so & look at the hell he, & others, had to go thru because of it. All men are suckers for pretty rich powerful princesses & so it must be from God. Right!?
