Kabini is just 5 hours from Bangalore and 1.5 hours from Mysore. It is a definite place you must visit especially if you are nature enthusiast.

There are two types of safaris that you can go on.
1. Jungle safari
2. Boat safari
The boat safari is only available for people staying in the resorts in Kabini (any resort ). You cannot book this online via the government website.
Cost is 2250/- per person (additional charges for the type of lens you carry. I paid 800 extra for my telephoto zoom lens of 200mm🥲)
You have to inform your stay that you want to go for the boat safari and they will book your seat with JLR. All bookings for boat safari go to Jungle Lodges. You have to go to the JLR campus and the boats will take you from there on your safari.

Booking and cost:
✅ Safari is run by jungle lodges in Kabini
✅ You can book safari from government website for INR 650/- per person
✅ You can book the jeep safari from the resort you are staying in for 2250/- per person
✅ There is not much difference in both the safaris and you can choose any
✅ You get 3 hours of Safari time
✅Timing: morning 6.00 am, evening 3.00 pm
The majority of the task is to sit quietly and wait for the animals. The boat driver will wait, stop and also explain what animal you are seeing.🐅
