I said goodbye to my beautiful wife today after losing her to breast cancer. While looking for music for her funeral, I came across this on an iTunes playlist she made in her final weeks. I had not heard it before, but it was like the warm hug I wanted but can no longer have from her. I know this song gave her strength and I feel like she left it for me. ❤️

I feel so terrible for the losses that the commentators have endured. It breaks my heart... music is a key piece of healing. I never would've come across the comments from others .. but I too needed some peace, hope, and happiness.. so turned to music. Thank you!! God works in mysterious ways.... but he always has a plan!! I look forward to helping/hearing others and their stories... 💖

This was sung at my daughters butterfly release. She committed suicide in June 2022. She suffered with depression. This was so beautiful. The weather was drizzly and after everyone left…one solitude butterfly few straight at us and then up into the sky. It was amazingly beautiful.

I lost my daughter to suicide after a long battle with mental illness. She was a sexual assault survivor and loved this song, as it gave her hope that she would enjoy a happy life after the storm she felt inside. Unfortunately during the pandemic mental health services that she relied on became unavailable. We played this song for her funeral. I will always remember her as my beautiful happy child, but miss her terribly today. 💔😢 listening to this on repeat. ❤

Our 11 & 7 year old, Trinity and Zachary, died in a car accident a year ago and this week I asked for a rainbow. Less than 36 hours later a double rainbow appeared in the sky as I was driving to my mom’s. Then the icing on the cake was this song a few days later. We are so loved. 💜💙

I lost my first born at delivery. He would have been 17 this week. Has native background on his Dad's side, and his native name translates to Child of the Rainbow. When my husband left the hospital there was a rainbow overhead and was one over our house weeks after. Every time I see a rainbow I have a sense that there is a purpose and an energy to life greater than we understand.

2 years ago our 18 year old daughter sat at our table and told us if she did away with herself we would only miss her for a month but get over it. She broke our hearts with this thought. We worked together, discovered the root cause, supported and came through. 2 years later, she has a job, a loving relationship, confidence and a smile from within. I first heard this song 2 days ago while working a machine. I repeated it and let the tears stream down my face. I sent it to Grace and got back 3 smiley faces and 2 hearts. What more in life is needed.

I lost my little sister to suicide after pleading with her for hours. All I wanted to do was ease my dads pain but couldn’t hold in my own. I got in my car to get away from my family and cry my heart out in my car alone in my garage before having to step back into my house. I turned on my car and the radio turned on as well, and this exact song began to play as I contemplated if life was even worth living anymore... I wished I could have saved you, been a better person to you, been there for you on your worst days, but you saved me. I think about you all the time. I hope you know. The world lost a beautiful soul and a badass Airman. Rest In Peace ❤️ 10/18/1995 - 01/19/2019

I lost my husband 01/02/2011 in a tragic accident. At the time our son was 4 and our daughter was 4 months old. Didn't even have a tooth in her head she was so little. He missed everything. He loved those children so much. Loved me, too. He was just a good man, and kinder to me than anyone else in the world. Didn't deserve to have his life cut so short. Love you, Dylan, miss you every day... see you on the other side, baby.

My best friend/momma passed last month. I have been so lost without her. We played this song at her celebration of life as people gathered outside for me to do a butterfly release in her honor (she raised and released 524 monarchs last year). I'd never seen this video before, and the butterfly flying away at the end just confirmed what I already know- she's still close. Thank you for this. ❤️🦋

I heard this song at an elementary talent contest tonight. It was beautiful and I cried like a baby. I have experienced a lot of life-altering trauma the last few years but my rainbow is my beautiful children. I didn’t tell them I was thinking this as I kissed their heads while listening to the song. Well, my empathetic, thoughtful little boy ran to his room when I got home and asked for me to play the song on KZfaq. When I started it, he came out of the room, dressed in his rainbow pjs. I picked him up and we danced in the living room. I haven’t felt this at peace in a long time. Thank you for the beautiful song and for reminding me what incredible rainbows are in my life.

When it rain it pours but you didn't even notice It ain't rainin' anymore, it's hard to breathe when all you know is The struggle of staying above, the rising water line Well the sky is finally open, the rain and wind stopped blowin' But you're stuck out in the same old storm again You hold tight to your umbrella, well, darlin' I'm just tryin' to tell ya That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head If you could see what I see, you'd be blinded by the colours Yellow, red and orange and green, and at least a million others So tie up the bow, take off your coat and take a look around 'Cause the sky is finally open, the rain and wind stopped blown' But you're stuck out in the same old storm again You hold tight to your umbrella, well, darlin' I'm just tryin' to tell ya That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head Oh tie up your bow, take off your coat and take a look around Everything is alright now 'Cause the sky has finally opened, the rain and wind stopped blowin' But you're stuck out in the same old storm again Let go of your umbrella, 'cause darlin', I'm just tryin' to tell ya That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head Yeah there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head It all be alright

To those who don’t understand the video- The mother is a single mother suffering with a load of stress The old lady is lonely Man after is an alcoholic The woman next to him is afraid of the dark And the boy with makeup is I’m assuming gay and only the mother supports him and the dad hates him The lonely lady made me on the verge of tears because I’m extremely close to my grandma, and I can’t imagine my life without her, so the fact that people don’t love her enough to see her made me cry🥺

I wish the video had focused on telling one story. I didn't really like the mashup of generic sad people. I think this is the kind of song that means something different to everyone, which is maybe what the video is going for, but I felt that by not having one focus in the video we don't really get a sense of what Kacey and the other songwriters meant it to be.

I wasn't paying much attention, and then all of a sudden I can't help but notice this beautiful voice coming from the screen.
