Fellow native Kentuckian who visited Romania last year. I don't have enough good things to say about it. Great place, great people. My family back in the US got tired of hearing me blab on about it after I came back.

Romania is on my bucket list! 😍 it reminds me of my trip to Lithuania, absolutely incredible. The scenery, castles, building, ugh just so pretty!

I was very blessed to visit Romania in 2004. I went to Bran castle also. I was born in Romania and my family moved to the USA when I was 10 years old. We've been here a long time. My husband was born In CA. We also eloped and had a church wedding 11 months later. We've been married for over 17 years. May the good Lord above continue to bless you and Josh. You are so right about Romanians infusing everything with alcohol. lol 😂😜

I want to go to Romania it looks so beautiful and some of the food is same as what I grew up with from Czech Republic. The police in Venice Italy did the same thing making cars randomly pull over to inspect our car and whether we have a international drivers license, thankfully we did.

BUNA! That was a great video you did of one of my favorite countries in the whole world - Romania! For a long time, Romania was my adopted country, my home away from home, and I spent a lot of time there. Romania is an amazing country that is full of unbelievable secrets. For example, in Romanian, the Pan Flute is called NAI - and hence my KZfaq name, because I play the Nai, the Romanian Pan Flute, and make them from bamboo - and in the nineties, I was a professional Pan Flutist with an Andean band in San Francisco - made better money doing that than anything else I ever did. Most people think that the Pan Flute is from Peru or South America, but the authentic Pan Flute is an indigenous folk instrument of Romania. Its most famous player, Gheorghe Zamfir, is also known as the King of the Pan Flute - and he was one of my teachers, by the way.

I know you like the taste but should seriously consider switching to something else. The Romanian language is a Latin based or Romance language that is very similar to other Romance languages like Spanish, French and Italian. In fact, if you are new in Romania, you can almost throw together what you know of French, Spanish and Italian and come up with a kind of "kitchen Romanian". But if you want to get more serious about learning the language, you gotta tackle the grammar, which is actually quite complex, and is closer to the original Latin than other Romance languages. Vocabulary-wise, it's the opposite - other Romance languages like Spanish, FRench or Italian have more words of Latin origin in them than Romanian does. This comes from Romania's geographical isolation from the rest of the Latin world - they borrowed many words from their neighbors - Cioban or shepherd from Greek; Ceai for tea from Turkish, Cartof for potato from Slavic languages, etc...
