Once played on course set in a neighborhood. One of the T-boxes was just up from a house with a fancy wooden playground swing set sitting beside it. I remember the house had several hundred golf ball dents in the plank siding and the downspouts were just about beat off the side of the house. I thought, 'man those kids must have huge balls to ever play on that swing set.'

When we first started to play golf as a family, my dad once decided to tee off with his driver, thinking that he wouldn’t be able to hit a family that was playing way ahead of us. He surprisingly hit a 200+ meter shot (220 yards) and hit the small kid’s leg. It was very funny but very dangerous at the same time lol

Honestly surprised it doesn't happen more often. People line up in front of the player nearly every shot, every weekend.

The worst shot and response was Tom Kite's. All the others were miles up the fairway or were hit by hacks such as the woman who hooked it twice to the same place. Kite's was a snap hook that traveled less than 50 yards; a real weekend hacker's shot by a Major winner and his reaction was one of complete disregard for the victim.

I remember one time a buddy of mine was friends with an NFL player. The three of us played golf and the NFL guy, who was actually a decent golfer, shanked one badly. The fairway was lined with trees that ran adjacent to an Apartment complex. We all heard his ball hit a parked car. He actually went looking in the parking lot to see what damage he had done. He couldnt find a damaged vehicle or his balI. I said he, not we. We stayed on the golf course, we wanted no parts of it. Stand up guy though. Learned a lesson about character.

The most exciting part about golf

I have fought a hook for 40 years. The nice thing about it, though, is when you hook into trouble on the left, another big hook will generally get you out and around whatever is in front of you and towards the green. I've hit some howling huge hooks out of trouble on the left.
