Great review! Love Murakami and Kafka on the Shore was my introduction to his work. I loved it! He’s just a writer who’s books stay with you long after the reading experience.

It takes me around two books to absolutely adore an author (sometimes even only one when it's really good). I highly recommend Marcus Sedgwick and his book *Midwinterblood* . It's one of my all-time favorites and he automatically became one of my favorite authors from that book alone. Other authors I recommend are Marcus Suzak (check out his book *I am the Messenger* ) and Rick Yancey with his *Monstrumologist* series. I'm still reading Kafka on the Shore so I don't have much to say except that it's one of the weirdest and confusing books I have ever read so hopefully the conclusion will make sense!

I just started reading Murakami! I’ve read Sputnik Sweetheart, Strange Library, and Hear the Wind Sing. I got kind of lost reading Pinball haha and I need to start over and reread it because it seems soooo irreverent and abstract. I had to take a break and read some mystery novels and PKD lol.

I absolutely love Murakami but I find him difficult to recommend to people because it gets so abstract and surreal sometimes. It's like a puzzle but half the pieces are missing. Especially in Kafka. Wind up bird chronicle is excellent as well.

@@rammelbroadcasting I feel like I got lucky because I was recommended Sputnik Sweetheart first and warned that it does not have a satisfying ending. It was easy to read even when it was being kind of vague and I just fell in love with all the characters. Also there’s so many theories about the ending of the book. I like how open ended it was.
