I’m not sure, but I believe that Zachary waited out the whole charge, which means there is no more lingering hitbox. Otherwise, it was just lucky to squeak in between two of them. I don’t know why he didn’t use it more though, maybe he didn’t want to get arrowed or upaired under ledge?

that's a really good question, and it's bc the yoyo charge has a really active hitbox at the startup but not after. So ness needs to time their dsmash to hit an opp if they delay their recovery. Z used his dj's to delay, and the 2f is harder to time on someone grabbing ledge from a dj than an upb. And so the reason Z only got hit with it a few times is just bc there really weren't any opportunities. He'd always at least sacrifice getting hit from going high than try to go low and risk getting hit with the yoyo, bc once you get hit and get sent lower with less resources, it gets even harder to recover. And S knew this, so he didn't try to yoyo most of the time bc he knew he'd just drop the edgeguard or get reversaled by Z. He mostly did really quick options instead like upb or nair/bair bc he had to. He only yoyo'd when Z had no options but to go low. The reason lots of players get hit by it a lot is kinda bc it feels counter intuitive to get hit going high, even tho the other option of trying to time your 2f to beat the yoyo leads you closer to death. A simple example is wolf always sideb'ing onto stage when playing vs ness. It feels like something you'd only do your first hour into playing, but its optimal risk reward bc even if the opp punishes you as hard as possible, you'll probably not die and just get sent back offstage. But this time you might be able to have a better recovery mix and get your dj back. You get to least live to have another mix

I think it also has to do with the fact that he didnt really get the yo yo hanging off the ledge, so zackray was able to go to ledge under the yo yo

Because Ness has tons of mixups to istant take the stock reversing the ledgetrap but if the enemy Is zackray maybe it's too much
