Esa final de kumite es un clásico del karate do en general y debe ser observada por los demás estilos y sistemas como una muestra de un combate convertido en arte.Excelente video y gracias por ponerlo en la red.
@brayden1234516 жыл бұрын
please stop right now. your asuming that from just youtube videos and no knowledge what so ever. shotokan punchs are incredibly powerful, just because of its perfect technique. the speed come from relaxing your arm until it actually has to be tence when it makes contact. if you dont believe there is any power, go to a good shotokan karate dojo and find it out for yourself.

I wish all tournaments were like that, i mean without gear. it hardens that body and helps u develop control.
@malasangre670016 жыл бұрын
that is right, samurai practiced jujutsu Iwhich unlike Brazilian jujutsu, used to include strikes, kicks, elbows, punches, etc).

Now that's some old school kumite, no sparring gloves, no mouthpiece, no head gear.
@ptboyindenver13 жыл бұрын
@Pninja885 Yes, very controlled, all-Japan championship. Every technique has a natural stopping point. When hitting somebody, that point is a few inches inside his head or torso. In JKA kumite it is 1 inch in front of him and is hit with full power and speed. Don't listen to the moron who says they PULL punches. Technique must be directed thru the center of the target, glancing blows do not count.. Mistakes can have devastating consequences - smashed cheekbones, broken ribs, concussions..
@FoodCubes15 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they make contact, but they try to pull their strike as much as possible.
@rtempestini16 жыл бұрын
Well, by "on the ground" I meant there's no need to leave the floor and raise your one-point. Competition is a sport, not Karate.

Normally no. Most often one hand is held at about chin height and the other at plexus height. So lower than Muay Thai but a lot higher than this.
@malasangre670016 жыл бұрын
This kind of tournament is just part of the training. Or do you really think that is the kind of fight this karateka would use as self defense? If you believe so, then you know nothing about karate training.

BEGIN READ FROM THE OLDES COMMENT FROM ME "This is to CTuxford"....Then after you wake up you will probably begin to train karate. And plz CTuxford a real knee or elbows is not on UFC.
@rtempestini16 жыл бұрын
Hopping bunnys! That's nothing like traditional SHotokan Karate. Competition is for those who like shinny troffys. Karate is done on the ground!
@CTuxford16 жыл бұрын
And people make fun of the tae kwon do fighters. As for comparing it to the UFC, give me a break. This is a point scoring game, not knockout. Even the Kyokushin blows this stuff away. I'm sorry guys, but martial arts has moved on from this type of fighting years ago. This stuff will not save your skin against an average boxer, let alone clinch, knees and elbows. It's fast because you hardly have to hit the opponent. All speed, no power.
