Very late but I'm pretty sure the reason the song has no English lyrics is due to licensing issues. They gotta get permissions to do the official translations, and it seems like Jin didn't wanna give 'em permission for some reason. Also, the module was one of the winners of a piapro contest - they do these contests for almost every diva game, where people design loading screens and modules. It's always before the song lists are actually revealed, so there was really no way to incorporate anything from any song unless you had the power to see the future. Anyway, Urban Pop was one of those modules. Why they made it the recommended module, I don't know. This is literally the only game ever where a piapro contest winner is a recommended module (this is the case with Kagerou Daze which uses Urban Pop and Glory 3usi9 which uses Fluffy Pastels).

Apparently the Urban Pop module is supposed to be a mixture of characters (Hibiya, Kido and someone else, can't remember who) but I'm not certain of this is true And Kano is the cat. I didn't know that... (Also, this video is very, very true, good job!)

I think that the only way that the PV is kinda the same to the actual KagePro version is the CHANCE TIME Fail because Miku has images playing on the stage.

While it doesn’t excuse why they chose Urban Pop as a the recommended module for this song, the design is not from Sega themselves, but actually a contest winning design for the game along with other costumes for the other Vocaloids for the game. The theme for the contest designs were all based around casual streetwear. For some reason, Miku gets 2 contest winning modules while everyone else gets 1. (In fact, in F 2nd, there is a loading screen of those contest winning modules with Urban Pop included while having 2 mikus on screen.) Obviously, they just chose Urban Pop for this song solely because it has a hoodie. But the song was probably likely not the inspiration for the design during its creation (or it could be out of pure coincidence). There’s a possibility that Sega might not have designed a module for the song like how Black Rock Shooter didn’t get one despite that one scene where she does the eye flame thing. For BRS, it’s most likely due to licensing issues with the character design even though they have the song (which is why they used a silhouette of IBRS for like 2 seconds of the song). For Kagerou Daze’s case, they probably just chose an outfit for it because they had an asset ready from elsewhere.

It includes cameos from Chartette, Ney, Leonhart, and Clarith, and it even has the Crest of Lucifenia. The other side is this monstrosity.

I personally like the pd vid, it's not supposed to be a recreation of the original. I also think you're perceiving parts of it that was unintended by the animators. As for the English lyrics, I believe that was a licensing issue, though I heard it was because of gore but I'm leaning on Licensing. At the end of the day, can't we all just enjoy our music?

They should of had made a hibiya based module for kaito/Len and then a hiyori module for Hiyori

The outfit is such a mess yeah. Also I think the events in the video do (albeit loosely) reflect the song (not counting the concert). Not to mention the ORIGINAL PV (not the one referenced here, which was fanmade from Wannyanpuu) only features Hibiya, and has no visuals to the events of the song aside from lyrics and the text, and..blood? I guess. I really do not think they were trying to replicate kagepro (obviously) but rather, make it their own.

Jin is impressed with Wannyanpuu's fanpv so later on he/she is the one responsible for several songs in the kagepro.. Also I believe they don't use Hibiya or Hiyori.. Because they only have the copyright to use the song... Not the characters... As for the Urban Pop yeahh I agree the colour is hideous.. Maybe choosing a much more less vibrant colour that go with each other is a better choice..

Didn't Jin himself hated the PV? Or at least wasn't up to his standards because apparently he wasn't consulted enough when making it (which is really odd since producers are usually really involved in deciding what goes into each PV). It's also pretty stupid how she tries to save the cat. You know, the cat that is constantly presented as an antagonistic force throughout nearly every time Hibiya's experience in the haze is shown. The cat that the novels make it clear that Hibiya himself sees as an antagonistic force. I am 100% sure he would immediately yeet in it front of the truck if he realized that Hiyori knew what was going on and he didn't have to pretend things were normal. And this is all made even more annoying by the fact that, as an Evillious fan, I can say with confidence that the Project Mirai PVs for Daughter and Servant of Evil are some of the most accurate that I've seen, even including several details that come from the books, which proves that they can do this kind of thing well, they just sort of didn't.

Funny story about this song: When I first started playing this game, I used the English subtitles for very song, except for this song. The story always looked so interesting to me, so I tried to look for the English lyrics on KZfaq. Again, I couldn't find any Miku pv with the lyrics, when I found the original video. Blah blah blah, now I'm a major fan of Kagerou Project cuz of the dumb system in project diva. Coolio

Okay if they say it’s too gory to actually follow (in the bare minimum way. It doesn’t have to be the exact same thing of course) then just have it be a stage song. Sure it’s a bummer for a story song but it won’t tease us like this. I’ve went through other pvs that went for the original video’s style yet they were still able to be their own unique thing despite referencing the original. Two faced lovers and it’s colors although the original is purely black and white, their main references being the fast paced transitions in typography is a good example of a fun remix of a video. Here’s a proposal for a pg Kagerou Daze: Miku on stage with another Vocaloid as a background dancer (something that happens a lot in shows). Time loops start similar to pv, BUT there is still a sense of danger. Have the not Vocaloid character in question get “knocked out” at the end of each loop. And miku is trying to stop their friend from a “concussion”. That’s not as bloody and you can still give it a light hearted tone the original pv was going for (you can even have the not miku Vocaloid have those silly “spiral eyes” whenever they are knocked out to show “hey guys! They aren’t dead or anything, just probably got a concussion that will take a while to recover from but miku still doesn’t want to see her friends hurt!” Sure it’s a loose remix of the original, definitely more light hearted compared to the lyrics, but it’s something I can jive with a bit more. If they can’t follow the source as close as they could the other songs then at least embrace that limitation ya know?

What grinds my gears about this PV is that the song's lyrics start during noon. "On August 15th, 12:30 in the afternoon. The weather was incredibly nice" But KageDiva clearly starts during midnight. Other than that, I think it's decent enough. Urban Pop is still atrocious though.

I think that they really just wanted to incorporate the song into the game because it is well known, I mean rasetsu to mukurou had some of the most visceral and unnerving PV with its lyrics but when it was translated into PD it became a dance PV with spooky props added in, but I can't really blame them on that because they tried what they could to put into it without becoming too dark, ironic though that a song about child abuse and rape contained most of its original lyrics while this one didn't. The only PV that I liked that transferred well is Hello Planet, that song just hits me man.

They could've atleast changed the story to be about miku saving len (because why not?), it would've worked perfectly!

Urban Pop hair I really like but, the colors don't fit with the original idea and colors of the video. I understand they were trying to make her a tomboy, or like she was trying play both characters from the songs but like first seeing urban Pop I was like ooh Miku as a tacky, Pokemon character. Never seen the original pv for kagoura dayz. So that's why I don't complain over the pv, I actually like the pv because it's just entertaining to see miku get tossed around and "die" . I think you're going too heavy in this one. We have to understand 2 things here: The song content is too heavy for an "Everybody" rated game and the Kagerou story is way too long and interconnected. I don't see the problem in trying to censor a bit the video and also trying to do it auto-conclusive. Yes, of course, we lose a lot in that and for actual fans it could be a little disappointed but they actually incorporate a lot of intetresting details in the video that you're not taking into account at all, like the traffic light going crazy and the dead cicada. It's not that she didn't died, it's that she was "suddenly pushed away" when the truck was about to hit her but the dead cicada shows that she actually died. She is already in a time loop that she doesn't understand, that's why the traffic lightt is going into green and red. And she also "miraculously" didn't get hit by the falling tubes because she was, at certain point, but something is "saving her", and this "saving" is "fate". They're trying to imply how fate is playing with her, as Miku -Should- die, and even if this "miracle" is saving her, she still falls for another trick. Is her destiny to die. They also did an interesting work with the cat, as they took Kano and added... Hibiya. This is not intended to be a Kagerou project representation, but a re-imagination of the song. They didn't want to go canon, but took some of the elements and re-design them. This tailing, this fighting, this chase... it's pretty similar to Hibiya traying to save Hiyori and ending up in tragedy. The cat is never in actual danger because It intended to go ahead with their own plans, even if that cause suffering to the other person. The cat knows what will happen just as Hiyori, but Miku thinks it is innocent and needs to save it. But the cat is also Kano, provoking this accidentts. And if you don't want to tag it with names the cat is just "destiny". Miku can't avoid her destiny, no matter how hard it tries because at the end Everyone dies. I think that it's pretty powerful video when you try to understand it as it's own, and you appreciate it as it is. And it's ok if you don't like it, but I don't like when people judge something just because it's not an exact copy of something else. Also I think they did a great job censoring tthe blood and violent scenes. AND it's not tthe first time we see concert scenes to apply the "project diva theme" on a song, mostly to lighten the mood and make it more "appropriate" to everyone. I think they made a great job ADAPTING Heath Daze. And that's good, because Heath Daze original PV was already perfect as it was, so watching new media is always enjoyable.

But kagerou daze never had a PV. You used a fan made PV to show kagerou daze. Jin's first song with a pv in kagepro was headphone actor
