Kaguya is nothing compared to godlike, badass, big boss Madara.

It went from "theres bad guys out there" to "cycle of hatred" to "my eyes is better than yours" to "chakra fruit go brrrrr"

As mediocre of a character Jiren was in his own right, at least he’s meant to be the final boss that Goku and Universe 7 team has to overcome from the moment where they start Tournament of Power. Kaguya just came out of nowhere in the very last minute of the climax. After all build up for Obito and Madara’s character and their motivation, they manage to screw that up over Kishimoto’s dumb decision.

Kaguya doesn't have much of an ideological conflict to Naruto since their isn't much of a foil. Compared to Madara, Itachi, and Obito who has character conflict with each other. But, Boruto exist to be a cash grab and creating fan fiction.

Had trouble wrapping my head around how we even got to Kaguya during this era so I was confused and vaguely annoyed the rest of the arc, so it was nice to hear a clear take.

Obito for me should have been the final villain, and I feel your frustration Greg.

How I would have defeated Madara is have the 10 tails be to unstable and right when Madara is about to finish naruto and sasuke, he transforms into the 10 tails then naruto and Sasuke argue about what they should do with what they should do with the 10 tails, Sasuke says they should kill the 10 tails, naruto says they should bring back the 9 tailed beasts because he became friends with kurama, then they both get into a battle, because that makes more sense

What made me upset that madara was a perfect final villian he had a build up from episode 1 in Shippuden he was mentioned the only person to be able to face hashirama a better ending would be they seal madara or damage him to the point that he can't control the ten tails because it's unstable, what made me mad about kaguya is there was no build up at all she came out of no where literally and the fact that she was nerfed is bad team 7 Vs kaguya should have been a 1 month at least in anime time hogormo and his brother who was a lot stronger than Naruto and sasuke took them 1 month and Naruto sealed her in 30m you can't say she is not good at combat because she fought 2 gods for a month kaguya is supposed to have most of the kg and why is her byakogan soo useless? She should have gotten the tensigan sharingan is a weakened from of kaguya and hogormo sharingan shouldn't her have a better version of the byakogan?

Kaguya is terrible, but when she showed up, my investment in Naruto was so dead that I was actually a little happy because it meant this series was finally going to be put out of its misery. Like Old Yeller, this thing I once loved and has transformed into this beast of a story, and now it has to die before it can do anymore harm. Unfortunately we got Boruto instead.

I mean with kingdom hearts, Xehanort was aware of things going behind his back, and even Luxord and Saix knew of how suspicious Xigbar was but ultimately they didn’t care, here however black zetsu claims that he planned everything, but Xigbar on the other hand focused on his plans without betraying Xehanort.

One of the things that really upsets about Kaguya is the sheer amount of wasted potential, I mean how many main stream shounens had a main female villain? If I were to rewrite her I would actually make her an ally, since Madara is too powerful have Kaguya be the one to defeat him (maybe use the sage tools to summon her?), have her come in decide everything Madara and Zetsu are doing is stupid, she zips them into another dimension and wakes everyone else up from their dreams, maybe she could even take away all the tailed beasts? That way the world of Naruto is back to where it was at the beginning, just ninjas.

You know one thing about people being turned in white zetsus by infinite tsukuyomi for an army ruins any kind of moral ambiguity the eye of the moon had in the series. While having the whole world fall into an eternal sleep in their deepest desires and dreams is a bit ridiculous and makes the 4th great ninja war and more black and white conflict; at least you could make grey moral argument about how the world is too corrupt, humanity can never be truly united and they will always destroy each other so why not put them all peacefully to sleep so they will stop fighting and destroy the world around them. But this whole argument is destroyed once you recon it into creating and army and ridding everyone of their humanity to fight in some upcoming alien war ruins it and makes part of the reasons while villains like Obito, Madara and even Kisame to small extent motivations and actions throughout the series rather pointless.

Kaguya served no point in the series. She was just there.

I feel if Kaguya really needed to exist it should of been left to a spin off/squeal, where you could of had a cult that worships her try to bring her back to destroy the ninja world or something. The only things I'd enjoyed in that whole fight were when team 7 hit the final blow and the reverse harem justu, as it funny and reminds us that Sakura can be just a prevy as Naruto in some cases.

I agree Kaguya is just to set up Boruto, which is stupid, and even Kaguya's plan is so damn stupid. I mean, an army of White Zetsu's that we see throughout the War arc get their ass handed to them. Yeah, they will help you out a lot Kaguya as they all get killed with ease. I mean even other villains have had better ideas in making an army, hell even I could think the whole Kaguya wanting an army, one everyone becomes a demon that way Team 7 and the others have to fight their loved ones. But if I did Naruto, then there would be no Kaguya at all, not even a last, and Hinata would have died a long ass time ago. Yes, I would have killed Hinata off.

What about the Moon? The Moon was always emphasized alot when there is an Uchiha incident (especially Uchiha massacre or Madara vs Hashirama final valley). For the Western viewers I guess it's kinda hard to understand. For the Easterners... the story of a lady, the Moon, Yin-Yang, the Monster and Source of Immortality is quite famous as a unity. It's inspired by the Tale of Bamboo Cutter, the oldest Eastern Folklore from 10th century (an ancient famous folklore alongside Journey to The West). It's about humility and dude(s) collecting some nearly impossible items to get Kaguya but she dips to the Moon. If you haven't realized it yet, the main theme of Naruto is about How to Deal With Your Inner Demon. Also Madara played a good part as being a proudful warrior while Zetsu also played his part as "ideal" shinobi (a tool that has a mind of its own to achieve a goal). It goes back to the story of Zabuza and Haku. If you have watched Avatar before, you will notice that Yue, the Moon, Black and White Koi fishes, the Giant Water Monster are basically Kaguya, the Moon, Black and White Zetsu, Jyuubi in Naruto. And the main villain of Naruto is this tool, this cursed mark, this darkness called as Black Zetsu... not Kaguya. Yes, it's quite anticlimatic. Even the original tale was very anticlimatic and left us hanging. The execution of this twist in the show was abit rushed too in my opinion. The could have made Madara get more fun while battling against Team 7 going all out, but they decided not too cuz Madara has had his fun against Might Guy before. Also, Japanese has an extraterrestrial tale since 10th century and your concept of shinobi is very affected by Hollywood bias. Zetsu said, "I chose Uchiha as the main cast of my tale" and Hagoromo only mentioned Calamity about his mother cuz he was kinda ashamed. He also complained about the language barrier and the fact that no one seems to grasp the true message that he left in the Stone Tablet when he talked to Naruto. Also the Stone Tablet was supposed to be like a holy book. What if the holy book was changed and not original anymore? This is also a hidden message that Kishimoto made so vague cuz it crossed some lines. Just think about it if you're a religious person. Now you see, it's world of dillusions. Lying and Bluffing are part of their life, especially if it's to take down the enemy or achieve one's goal. There is no real narrator explaining the real things in Naruto, unlike some anime. Of course Naruto is not perfect, but some people seems to not get the real message of the show. Kishimoto likes to make subtle jokes (sarcastic or not) during his interviews.

Kaguya is like the generic jrpg secret final boss that is a god/ alien/ eldrich abominación, etc.. that never was mencioned before, like persona 4 ameno sagiri, madoras in white knight chronicles 2, etc…

I get that her clan later on shows up in Boruto? But they could’ve just added her in Boruto, it kind of fell off with the story. Especially the dimensions that they had to go through like the snow one or the place we’re gravity is weird and the ground is green. But Madara was so good like he was unnecessarily evil and I loved it. He should’ve been the final one. We could’ve ended with a hint of what else is beyond Madara in the final form that leads to kaguya clan in Boruto.

"The Last" was blatant character assassination that made me hate Naruto as a character, despise hinata and the animation studio that had such an obsession with her. Now this might sound like ship talk but in my defense the last chapter (700) was pretty much about shipping. so~ 1. Neji's "cupid" death as confirmed by Kishimoto himself didn't lead to anything as he needed a movie to explain naruto and hinata's get together anyway. 2. Hinata is a terrible big sister thinking about the scarf she's making instead of worrying about her kidnapped sister Hanabi who's had her eyes gouged out by the movie villain 3. retcon a scarf for naruto thats apparently Kushina's to which he discards in favor of Hinata's in the end is pretty much kicking his dead mothers grave. 4. retconning that naruto doesn't know crap about love and whenever he heard it he equates it for love for ramen, as well as Naruto loving sakura because he wanted to win over sasuke... If you've read the manga, you know very, VERY darn well Naruto knows what love is. 5. retconning Naruto and hinata being friends during early childhood (also side note this means he lied to his dead dads face about sakura being his girlfriend.) and also throws poor Iruka under the bus. 6. retconning naruto knowing shadow clone before he stole the scroll 7. alien hyuuga's is such a stupid idea. 8. the fact you needed to damage control, retcon, making naruto feel bad to get with hinata and even GENJUTSU him really hurts the pairing.

I think Otsutsuki race is the worst thing to add in this anime

Jiren was one of the dumbest antagonist. He suppose to be a hero but acts like a villain trying to kill people on the bench. He has been doing nothing for most the tournament. Just sitting around doing nothing, while having the power to eliminate everyone by just powering up. He even let 2 people, he was able to eliminate stay on the field: Goku and Transgender Broly. He is like a discount Sasuke, which says a lot considering Sasuke was unbearable. While Kaguya came out of nowhere, there was at least something in her character. Not sure if it was filler, but she did care about her servant who died to protect her. You kinda felt the pain when the person she fell in love with tried to kill her because of a misunderstanding. Lastly, her own kids betrayed her, the only thing she thought she can have trust in. I feel dirty now that I actually defended a villain like that, but Jiren is absolute garbage even for Dragon Ball standards. I mean how can you be more bland than Super 13 and then become Sasuke. Super ripped a lot of iconic scenes from other better anime off to make Jiren appear more imposing or "interesting".

kaguya is just an ass pull plot device....naruto vs sasuke while boring as an ending to your series is a real developed 15 year story with characters we care about....thats the difference ...we don't and are not suppose to care about her..we want her beaten so we can get sasuke vs naruto ....also the anime gives you emotions more dialogue more fighting the great soundtrack more interactions that make it better than the manga or even say the video games...the naruto anime is great...the manga is ok..the games are solid but very skippy on certain plot points and rush things sometimes...i always suggest the anime.it gives you the feels...in the manga its hard to care about anyone honestly by the end...hinata legit was the only character i felt was not ruined by the end of the manga...i hated everyone else...even might guy staying alive felt weird when my fave dude gave it all up to beat madara i was so proud for him to go out that way as the best character but nope..he lived..smdh...
