Are you sure RF binos have less light transmission? I tried googling but found no info about that

Yes, we are sure that RF binoculars have lover light transmission rates. We are also planning to write an article about this matter in the future.

Optics Trade Glad to hear some info is coming. I checked Swaro's pages, Swarovski gives 90% for the EL x42 and 91% for the x42 EL range finder, at least they do not have this problem in theit binos.

They have to put a reflective substrate in the barrel, for the HUD. The reflective substrate doesn't have the same light transmission qualities as the lenses - hence the loss. I think there may be an issue with different coatings as well.

It looks like these are superior to Leica Geovids in most if not all areas with minor rise in price

Leica Geovids R are superior binoculars, but at the same time also more expensive.

Yes, a long tradition ........... Perhaps then, they should sack the sales executive that decided to produce this product in China ! He / she / they clearly have no respect for there customer base.

I tested these at a shop myself. Leica is much better. Kahles is mainly good with ranging further distances (at least on paper) and the size, which is noticeably smaller. -Kahles has the right lens VERY blue-tinted!! Not acceptable for this price range at all. -Not nearly as good sharpness as the Leica. -Leica also has better low light image -Focus ring is way better on Leica too. Leicas only con is the added height and weight really. If Kahles had better glass and good RF chip in it, the form factor would be a huge advantage.
