Scott must love to keep me busy or something. Just when I thought the Kahles K16i was overkill, this K18i showed up making me look like a fool... There aint much to say about it right now. Initial impressions are just 'meh'. The 8x doesnt impress, and for the....$25.... Hundred dollar price tag. That just doesnt add up. But lets keep that to the side until we complete its full testing. (which will be Very soon)

I was about to buy a K18i until I saw your two videos on it. The optical problems at 8x magnification stand out. Things that drew me to this option compared to others: lightweight, very wide field of view at base magnification, elevation adjustment range is large, SFP, and I like the reticle. What alternatives are there that meet these criteria (other than the reticle)?

you seem to be set against this optic right from the start where as in other reviews the kahles seems to rate very highly yes it is expensive but is it overpriced maybe but a lot of the top shooters love it and no i dont own one

not a scope i would buy. like you pointed out seems to be missing some easy bits that should be there as far as i am concerned. i do like the reticle so theres that but im not seeing it worth anything over a vortex razer line or the nightforce optics
@CDOES

Agreed. Even if it were half the price it would be iffy for the 8x performance. As much as I like the reticle. The 2 illuminated dots don't make much sense for me. And do more to distract me then anything else. It's all so odd.

In your opinion what do you think would be a better choice. This or the razor gen 3?
@CDOES
@CDOES 3 жыл бұрын
Despite not getting my hands on a Gen Iii razor. I would still pick that over this. It's cheaper, has more magnification, and I'm sure feels just as good with overall build quality. The only thing this does better is weight. That and I Ike this reticle.

@@CDOES if I may ask another in your opinion. I ask bc I know you've reviewed both. I'm stuck between getting the pst gen2 25x or save for the razor 27 power. Its purpose would be backpack hunting on a 300 wm making shots no further than 1000 yards.
@CDOES
@CDOES 3 жыл бұрын
@@renoreynolds8111 there is a simple answer there. If your back packing you don't want any extra weight, do you? The PST is the winner here. Iirc eurooptic had them one sale for $800. It's a steal

Seems to be about par with the mid-priced top tier optic brand offerings. With it costing so much, seems like the juice isn’t worth the squeeze, to buy or manufacture. Makes me wonder where the market is for an optic like this. After seeing it close up, the only thing I’m left with is, why?

Here in Austria a lot of people believe if it's not s&b,khales,swarovski or zeiss it's automatically trash and won't work, i often get criticized for using brands like vortex or primary arms even tough i get the same results with those pheasant scopes 😄

Different strokes for different folks. If the 8x was crystal clear then the price could certainly be justified for many people. But I dont think it is. My final review will be out soon. I am just trying show what you can expect from this optic.
