might be that the trigger resolves in two different instances, as the amass is written out in an extra sentence. so the second effect resolves, regardless of the first one having any targets

@leanhtudang2415 you are right. I went here to see if someone else noticed. Amass is part of bowmasters trigger and the trigger doesnt resolve because of no targets.

Those two triggers are not connected. It clearly says „…deal 1 damage to any target. Then amass Orcs 1.“

@@deggdegg2005 It's been 3 weeks since I've seen this but ok lol. So Kai basically immediately conceded instead of scrying his bowmasters to the bottom to look for an actual out to the game. Had 2 haunts so could have scryed an additional time and also just drawn for his turn if the second scry wasn't a good card. Not sure what was left in his deck so that's why I say "maybe" punted.

bowmaster is a win

My guess is that he was expecting (or rather playing around) a trick (Escape from Orthanc), hence why he didn't block it with the 6/5 troll when it came in as a 7/6 the first time (4/3 with 2 x 1/1 counters & the +1/+1 from the farmer). Because when it came in the 2nd time (again "only" as a 7/6 due to 3 x 1/1/ counters), he double blocked it with the Troll and the Patrol. He lost both blockers due to ring level 3, but still valued making sure he gets rid of the large and growing creature above potentially a total wipe-out if the trick (Escape from Orthanc) lets the creature survive.

@@LaurisB Good guess, I think you're right. However the consequences were so brutl tht he lost the game because of that and I wonder if the risk was worth it in this case.
