Tensions between China and Korea have kept Lay from being active with the rest of the group since Monster era. If you want to see him in variety content you need to go back before Kokobop era.

the amount of content Kai gives us for each comeback is just insane..his dedication and hard work really shows how much he wanted the fans to be happy..he can just do it without all of these film and videos but the way he appreciated the fans and the music and the love of dancing...jus wow..tq RJ for reacting..your reaction is one of the most awaited reaction for me..

Because his mom cried after watching the film and said that film kai is Jongin’s life itself. So i’m sure he’s join the team to discuss what the best for his FILM : Kai #Rover just like what he did in his first film. He’s a perfectionist after all

Billy Elliot is a popular British film about a young boy from a very masculine, struggling working family who goes behind his father's back to learn ballet. Kai has said it is one of his favourite films and often references it. An expectation we all have for Kai is that he will leave us stunned by his brilliance and wanting more.

At that time Lay wasn't active with EXO. It was because of China-Korea politics, Lay is really famous and was China's youth ambassador so he couldn't participate.

RJ!! There’s a dance practice out for FILM! It’s on the SMP Floor channel and it’s amazing. Without the fancy camerawork and props (don’t worry, the book is still there), you can really see what he’s doing and how he moves. I’ve watched it all the way through so many times already but I’ve also slowed down Sinner to .25 playback speed to try to figure out how they defied gravity 😮 ALSO, there’s another fun video where the members ‘audition’ Kai to be in EXO. Looks like it was done at the same time they did their reaction. I hope you can react to both. 😊🙏

Thanks for the reaction! I was waiting for your take on the film... and honestly, same... each song deserves a full mv.. Black Mirror, Slidin' and Sinner... china has banned and limited products and content from korea, lay is very popular in china and he is youth ambassador, so to keep the "peace", lay does not actively participate in exo (Korean boygroup) until the political situation improves a bit between both countries

EXO also did kai audition actually it's was kim jongin audition who is fan of kai 😅that was funny, Lay was EXO first reality show exo showtime Ot12, but we mis him in arcade and ladder i hope we get to see him in ladder season 4 OT9 members 😢

I think in late 2018 South Korea and China had political issues. And Lay was the Promotional Ambassador for Hunan Communist Youth League, he had to be cautious. But recently the relationship between the 2 countries have improved so Lay got to be in the DFTF album in 2021. Yes, Kai has creative input. He is heavily involved in all the production.

China made a Korea ban years ago, not allowing korean idols to promote there. Unlike others chinese idols in Korea, who are able to promote in both China and Korea (ex: WayV members under NCT), Lay is publicity ambassador for the Communist Youth League of China since 2016. So everytime there's more politic tension between them, his situation as ambassador becomes more delicate. It affects his add deals too. Exo ladder and arcade were made after that, so the only reality show Lay appears with Exo is Showtime with the 12 original members. Let's hope for ot9 comeback/reality show this year!

The reason Lay wasn't in a lot of their things is because of the conflicts China and Korean government have going on. Lay is a publicity ambassador for the Communist Youth League of China of Changsha. So he is technically serving the Chinese government that's why it was so difficult. Sadly Lay also officially left SM and exo on April 8, 2022. (Also any Exo-L's if I got any information wrong please feel free to let me know)

I think lay has a different contract with sm now and this has been in the works for some time now , also he's managing his own entertainment company and his solo music, acting etc in china.. so working together would be extremely difficult....Just happy that there's atleast an ot8 comeback in works after 5 years😭...and if lay surprises us like in the last comeback🤞 Also loved your reaction.. I loved film kai sooo much I keep replaying it too❤

Lay is not with EXO anymore. He terminated his contract with SM a year ago. There are historical and political issues between Korea and China and those are being treated sensitively because they have the potential to extend to territorial issues like other countries. Some of Lays' remarks on them have become problems in Korea. His actions drew more attention because other members of EXO have never spoken about political issues.
