i think it’s fair to not like the character designs, but there are too many fans just kinda acting like man children and sending death threats and whatnot. i think the designs look ugly (and it’s not to do with the roundness, i love Heavenly Delusion’s character designs); especially compared to the manga, but like that’s my opinion. others can love them. and the character designer doesn’t deserve to be attacked by fucking twitter neckbeards because their favourite drawing looks different. just say you don’t like it and move on.

Yeah, I'm especially confused on why they also made Ichikawa's head swole as hell too, but hey, we should be really grateful that we are getting an anime, and so far it's looking really good.

Good breakdown! I think you described the points really well. Elaborating that this project doesn’t need to have constant sakuga to bring in new viewers. It can retain a slightly above average level of quality while simultaneously allowing the staff to show off their talent for the highlights. Good stuff

Another show that has very good animation is sentai daishikkaku, which really surprised me, and i also like the ending theme song showing the process of making the show, which was cool and unique to watch. I wonder if your gonna do an animation breakdown on that one.

I don't think the ending is about the show's production, hopefully this didn't sound rude. 😅 The song and visuals of it tho are indeed really good. 😌 Edit: I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about Kaiju No 8 in you comment. Bro the ending was very good but you have to give the opening more credits too. In my opinion the opening of sentai daishikkaku is one of the best openings I have ever seen. The esthetic and the visuals are top tier.the op looks like the animation from spiderman across spider verse thta has the song maned am i dreaming it looks very similar And the music is made by the goat himself tatsuya kitani. I already listened to the song enough tunes to fully memorize it. And I started listening to it like 4 hours ago I love that song man. The op is good and the ending is ad good as or a little lower than the op in my opinion.

For a battle shonen, I'm loving the story so far, especially how in the third episode Kafka decides to do his utmost to prevail without the kaiju powers he was given for free; I usually end up seeing shonen protagonists get this new power and then all the problems they had are solved without any effort - which isn't all bad, but still.

It's not unique if the character designer of Naruto and boruto makes the characters of kaiju no. 8 look like boruto characters. Kafka looks like adult Naruto with extra weight black hair chin hair and no marks on his cheeks. Kikoru looks like female boruto

Thank you for talking about Kaiju No. 8. I was hoping for animation breakdowns for it but wasn't sure if it was gonna happen. As of writing this comment I'm yet to watch episode 3, knowing it doesn't look too crazy is fine with me. There are around 3 or 4 major events in this season that I really can't wait to see, one of which is probably going to be in episode 4, that's where I expect the animation to be really nice. Hoping this isn't the last KN8 related video. 😅 Also, yes, one in-between shot that isn't even supposed to be seen doesn't mean the CD shouldn't touch anime ever again. -_-

What are your thoughts on the opening animation? I think it's quite unique looking and kinda like it. Just feels a little out of place after it ends and we are back to Kafka doing goofy facial expressions.

Bruh y'know that his work is average and generic at best in boruto and here it looks even bad in these show everything is just rounded as hell like u have kaiju very well designed but our main character looks like a cheap boruto or naruto character style rip off and that yellow hair girl looks like naruto or boruto s*xy jutsu. He just fell off hard tbh. He should take a break and try to change his style not this round and round character face style any more his work right now need creativity

Ideas to make the kajiu more dangerous 1.give them lesser human parts and more animalistic parts 2. The Kaiju should be more based off of the creatures in our mythology and prehistory or/also other media like avatar,65,monster hunter,dark crystal,skull island,primeval and even some of the great ones like Godzilla(speaking of Godzilla) 3.have this series be a sequel to Godzilla mins one

Good video. Many are getting angry over character design. For me i am neither fan nor hater of it. I like simple design which helps to convey movement in animation. Here where background art is so intricate, detailed and sharp whereas characters with curved designs don't blend in well. I hoped characters also looked little sharp even though some characters looked good.

Fun Fact: Japanese Studio's don't use Image Compression for their still shots. Each image is saved as an uncompressed Bitmap. Makes more sense, honestly. I'm dumbfounded by American studios losing their lossless frames. Take Avatar, for example, nobody has access to lossless versions of the shots. Why?! O_O

"Good" is an insane understatement. It's like saying Chainsaw Man looks "Good". But I agree with episode 3 being "Okey" but I don't mind it that much because the content of the episode weren't THAT important.

Ep 3 looked really 'normal', it's as he said not a full sakuga show. For now it doesn't even compare to CSM. You really had me wanting to delete my comment.

no. “good” is the perfect word to describe it. CSM was a crazy amount of sakuga, insane direction, chatacter acting, compositing, everything about it was insanely high quality. Kaiju in comparison has mediocre compositing, the most “okay” anime direction i’ve ever seen, and pretty alright animation (but nothing too crazy outside of episode one). and this is coming from someone who LOVES the manga. visually it kinda falls flat.

i’m surprised no one’s really talking about how inconsistent the characters look. even in episode one (which is by far the best episode visually so far) characters faces seem to change shape every time they move. and eyes will be in wonky positions for no reason in most shots.

Its has been three episodes until now, but the more characters appears the more i dislike the desings(with some exceptions, ex: the recruiter), is not about being similar to Naruto desings, plus, there are a lot of character acting and is great but, most of the desings looks weird most of the time, i suppose is something with the face, like shape, eyes, etc. It just seems strange to me, But is not a bad series, it is not a unique story but it is entertaining.

Rounded as hell like no fcking sharpness,naruto or boruto design style rip off like no creativity when a diff anime should look diff when it have a high production level. It feels cheap when a high production anime get disservice like this.

@@vaidikchauhan4382 The rounded simple character designs allow the characters to be more expressive, which can really aid the comedy and allows the animators to not spend a lot of time on character detail. The reason why that isn't a problem is because then the animators can ramp up the detail level when they want to make the scenes more intense. JJK season 2 had a similar approach although not to the same level, where the character designs got simplified with less intense shading however it allowed for greater creativity and more focus on movement, direction, and a lot better use of 3D and much more background 2D animation. And there were still plenty of really strong character drawings all over the place. I think it's a fair exchange that will ultimately pay off. I would give it time, but this is more a matter of prefference.
