True about IT salaries. Freshers should use the first couple of years to gain knowledge. Most freshers lack both fundamental & practical knowledge due to outdated curriculum, casual/ratta approach towards programming. If you get to work under a good senior use that to catch up. The knowledge will pay huge dividends in following years.

I was in IT in HR for over 16 years and what you said is absolutely right. When you start off your base is very low (eg 3lac per annum) and you easily get 50% hike every year or two. Then as you reach a certain salary level typically 30/40 lac then it plateaus out. After 40 keeping a job is more important than salary increase. Life is a bit boring after 40 in corporates because you know the system but you can't do anything about it.

You are absolutely correct sir. Whatever the best package one get should take it. Speaking from my personal experience, if someone start small keep learning and building network, within few years he/she can easily will get multiple high package offers. People please don't compare yourself just by your package, compare your knowledge(and if you don't have expertise then improve it). If you have done Engineering then please have/build attitude like an Engineer.
