OK, after the last two singles sucked, this one is actually better than I thought it would be, but it's not the best from the band, because EEE&W is still the best album and Duck was great, but Stay Together was poor, but had some decent songs on it. But the early stuff is just great as always.

I've heard snippets of all of the songs on apple music and it's much better than I thought. How 2 dance and jealousy are the poppy songs like stay together for the people who liked that album (I didn't mind it). The rest does sound like old Kaiser chiefs more edge this song is kind of in the middle though with the electronic drums but I like it.

Its fine and all but I can’t shake the feeling that KC exist in their current form purely to make songs for car and toothpaste commercials. Theres no edge anymore.

Saw KC in Australia,Foos,Oasis,KC,great day.KC first few albums were brilliant,music made for festivals,sych great energy,songs to belt out together.Sadly they haven't even remotely gotten close to their first few albums,a couple of ok songs but nothing remotely catchy just more generic,,their lost the distinct feel they had about them

this song has some of the most basic of phrases I've heard. "Feeling alright"? "I'm yours tonight"? "Don't be scared"? My god, English is your first language, is that the best you can come up with?

@@morganbruder1291 pop music can be incredibly complex both instrumentally and lyrically. This feels more like a case of "band clearly past their prime executing whatever idea they come up with, even if mediocre"

So much negativity in the comments! Jesus it’s only music! What gives you the right to dictate the band what kind of music to record? Are they not allowed to change their style, interests and evolve? The times of I predict a riot are long gone, they are more of a pop band now rather than indie rock one. Don’t like the new stuff don’t listen to it, easy! Right I’m off to pre-order their new album 😊

What gives you the right to gaslight people's opinions? Sure, they are allowed to evolve, but we don't all have to like it and we do have the right to voice our opinions. If you like their new direction, that's fine as well.

They've officially crossed over to "dad band trying to stay cool" with these latest singles. Just awful. They've done some not terrible stuff since Nick left, but I think his exit hurt the group more than anyone is willing to admit. They've been very patchy in terms of quality all through their "second act". I'm all for bands changing their sound, but it has to come from an artistic place. Not "please keep playing us on the radio". This is just so mind numbingly basic, musically and lyrically. I wish they'd do another The Future is Medieval. Dark, gritty, full of vibrant musical moments and quirky clever lyrics. All been downhill since then.

As others have commented, it still lacks that edge, but I guess that's not what they are going for with this album. As a dance track, sure, it's catchy and probably the best I have heard of the 8th album so far, but that's not saying much because the bar was set super low with the first two. Lyrically, it's as badly written as the first two. It's clear KC can still deliver the hooks, but sadly it's hooks with no depth and a very play-by-numbers structure. To borrow that lyric from a certain earlier album, once again they're "making pop music." At least they are using guitars this time around.....
