Loved the video! Here are some extra tips from a Norwegian on how to make these outfits work in even colder weather: - Don't wear metal earrings, it freezes your freaking earlobes! - Always wear some headgear, I tend to find that headbands are cute, but there are lots of cute hats also. - Wear thin wool socks or thights Other than that Katie pretty much nailed it 🥰

styling for winter is tough because although you're warm OUTSIDE the moment you go INSIDE you have to strip your layers with no where to put everything! (opinion from a uni student who commutes to class) love how you broke down and edited this video :)

Just one thing though as a Swede do not wear your earrings outside as they either conduct cold ie you risk freezing your earlobes literally ( not a good look) same thing clip ones but there it’s the pressure and worsened blood circulation same result ie put on your earrings inside remove for outside. Use one of those tight tubes for the head preferably in merino wool +get a super big scarf so it can be layered on top and wrapped around the head. Wear a second pair of gloves but with thumbs only on top and make them big and thirdly always get your boots big because you will want to stick an extra layer of woolen socks as long as possible in there.

Loved the format of splitting the video between theory and application! My biggest tip when shopping/thrifting is to also pay attention to the material-wool is your friend! I have a lot of chunkier knits currently, so I like looking for finer wool knits (merino if I’m lucky) when I thrift so I can layer more without feeling bulky.

@@twistedxvengeance yea, but unfortunately not nearly as warm or breathable as wool (or for the environment, but thats a whole other conversation). I live in Sweden so for me it would be difficult to survive winter without wool hehe. Yes it is expensive 😩 but I try my best investing in few pieces or look second hand. In the long run, wool also stays good looking and fresh way longer than polyester

I live in Canada and I saw girls one season walking around in sneakers and skinny jeans with bare ankles in the winter...public transit users. Idk how they could stay warm and not freeze to death. ☠ luckily eastern canada isn't as cold as other parts. some people's favourite winter accessory is a cup of coffee lol. pretty but flimsy coats and always a cup of coffee :)

Arizona is amazing! One of my favorite states. I remember how hot it was during the day, but I also remember the coldest I've ever felt in my life was out in the Yuma desert at night. All the years I lived there, we never got even a flake of snow, but the nights did get cold in Jan-March. But then, I was outside from midnight - 6am on watch, so I imagine you're not going out then. ha ha ha : )

It's kinda interesting, I never think about winter fashion in terms of what you see outside because I'm going to choose a coat based on how cold it is rather than on what goes with the outfit. But I guess some people have multiple coats of the same warmth level so that would be a choice to make? I totally agree with the layering tips, I'd just stop my outfit planning before the coat because the coat is going to be the same (and my coat is pretty neutral for that reason).

Thank you for the outfit ideas, they were really nice! 😊 However, I would recommend to add some kind or headwear, like a beanie or a headband, to those outfits since the head usually loses the most heat on our body. I always feel like you can layer as many clothes as you want, but if your head is not warm then you will freeze anyway. Also I think the feet should be kept warm. There are lots of different kinds of insoles that you can add to your shoes in order to keep your feet warm. I don't get why people aren't talking more about them 😁

Yeah seriously y'all just thrift the overcoats. I just received a vintage black wool/cashmere coat for 30 bucks, and told the posher that I basically stole this coat. It is also the blackest of black colors (at least that I own). I didn't even realize there were black colors this deep. I'm obsessed with it. So check out the thrift store or other second hand options in general. Folks really be paying good ass money for shit and then reselling it for pennies on the dollar. Y'all just need to know where and how to look.

Don't forget hats and scarves (and twirl the scarf once around the neck, then cross the ends and drape them over your chest under your jacket so that it actually keeps all the cold air out). Make sure your shoes are actually warm, with thick soles, and big enough to easily fit a pair of warm socks.

It only goes to about -10C where I live, and I'm always very warm. So I usually do all your steps, save for the big coat! That way, you get your warm base layer and the proper cozy outfit (with statement piece) without overheating :) Love the 2-part style of the video btw

And not a word was said about the fabrics of the layers or the difference between a fleece sweater and a wool sweater, etc. I've seen people layer one cotton layer after the other and not having a clue as to why they were freezing. People need to familiarize themselves with the properties of cotton vs wool vs acrylic vs fleece, etc. This video covers half of the issues related to shivering in winter and leaves the fabric question unaddressed.

I layered so much which helped me keep warm outside but then i had to use the rest room . I had to make sure all those layers be removed first 😂😅😊
