My father native Hawaiian from the Mahuka bloodline is a grand master in kajukenbo at the Kajukenbo institute in Vallejo California he’s been training and teaching there since 1970s under Grand Master Emil baptista (RIH ) 🤙🏽 💕 my children are now being trained under my father!

I think this is the only martial art where no one disputes its origins or its founder ( and also they are well known and documented) ..too bad there's not too many schools here in florida

I have met sifu Imperado 50 years ago. He was a very good friend of my sifu.

Most of the punches and strikes come from straight up boxing. This is very effective for street fighting as we can see in the video 👊👊👊

My ahgung was Tony Ramos "R.I.P." Fairfield CA.Ramos, Emparado, Reyes, that was family.

I trained kajukenpo as a kid till this day I can take on any street fighter .... this is the purest form of mma

My experience with Sifu Bob Maschmeier now Grand Master of Kajukenbo a direct student of Joe Haibuna. I had a martial arts background but wanted to expand it. So I joined Sifu Bobs martial arts school. Students would ask me what the various moves in the katas were for. Sifu Bob didn’t like that and he told the class to ask him if they have questions and then he got in my face and YELLED YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT. I said no. One time we were sparing. He was better than me but I was able to tap him on the face at the end of our match. He said to the class that we all take our knocks while one of his female black belts ridiculously paced back and forth between us giving me dirty looks. I thought nothing of it. The next time sparing I brought my dad because I was actually proud of the dojo and what was being taught. Sifu Bob told an experienced boxer to break my nose or leave the dojo. He did what he was told. As I was leaving the dojo Sifu Bob yelled I GOT YOU BACK A-HOLE. On another occasion an experienced tournament fighter that Sifu always used to brag about by the name of Miles punched me in my solar plexus knocking the wind out of me. I can’t help to think it was deliberate by now. As I was leaving Sifu Maschmeier went into his office that you had to walk by when exiting the dojo. I yelled goodbye...see you next time and he yelled A-HOLE. I never went back. I had heard a rumor that his dojo was disrespectful at a Karate tournament. And now I believe it considering how I was treated. That is not the way of Karate Do as I was taught. Hopefully he has learned something about respect by now.

It's a shame what was tolerated in the past, now if a sailor is caught to have done that all theyll get fucked up, and rightfully so.

Why does everything claim to be "the original form of mma"? The act of combining martial arts/fighting systems has been around for a very, very long time. Just talk about the system and showcase it. No need for big headlines and statements.

I took Kajukenbo as a teenager for 3-4 years....as an adult I’m have been off an on with JiuJitsu for about 6 years and not once did we ever do anything remotely close to JiuJitsu or even any submissions...As a prior student of Kajukenbo I think they need to remove the “Ju” from their name since they don’t do any.

kajukenbo is not a mixture of different martial arts, so if you want to find karate, judi/jiujitsu, kenpo or boxing you are wrong. The fundamental basis of kajukenbo is kenpo, since Sijo Emperado was the one who ended up developing the system. Acronyms of different martial arts are used because the founders practiced those martial arts and learned to defend each other. Greetings,

There’s is a lot of division among the Kajukenbo community. Lots of instructors trying to discredit other instructors. Lots of bickering. Lots of jealousy going on. I remember Tony Ramos. He was a good guy. His tournaments were fun.
