No. Ronaldo is not some random guy anywhere in the world. He was arguably the greatest striker to play the game. He was phenomenal combination of power, pace, skill and smile. Kaka statement is not accurate. Perhaps Brazilians are tired of the politics and party reputation of their players. But they are very much adored and respected in Brazil.

It's hard to play in such a heavy jersey. Any frustration destabilizes the fans and the players. We are being very little resilient in football, and the persistence and focus of our opponents has overcome our talent. Thats a factor. Kaká avoided talking about politics, as he has deftly dribbled the subject in recent years. He downplayed it, but politics is the main reason. In addition to football frustrations, several other issues began to bother Brazilians. Corruption in the CBF (Brazilian football confederation), some players taking (awful) political stand, and the kidnapping of the team's shirt by a political sect were the factors that disgusted many people and kept them away from football, especially in terms of the national team. When it comes to Ronaldo and other old-school players like Kaká himself, things are not as he is saying. It's true that Brazilians make a lot of jokes about players, but we make a lot of jokes about absolutely anything, mainly about our own disgrace. Ronaldo seems to have worked hard to become a meme, his weight is just one detail in the whole story. Brazilian players don't feel at ease with gringos, as they do in Brazil. I think this is just Kaka's opinion but it's not true, every place of course have their own haters, but the comparison with Ronaldo was a bad one, Ronaldo is another level, every Brazilian idolizes him and loves him, the respect he has BOTH by Brazilians and non Brazilians can't be compared with Neymar. Simply put, Neymar has some respect, because he is a very good player, arguably the best one we have now, but the only way he could earn the same respect and become a true Brazilian hero is by winning a World Cup.

Ronaldo is the reason why Kaka is a world champion, he carried Brazil (together with Rivaldo) to world cup glory.

I think what he was trying to say it that people abroad may assume that Ronaldo is hero worshipped in brazil to an evern greater extent than he is adored and respected outside of Brazil and that isnt fully the case. For example if Ronaldo made a mistake which cost brazil a game, something like that would be glossed over by foreign fans but greatly criticised by Brazilian becuase fundementally however talented he may be his job as a player is to deliver brazil wins. That being people are still proud of Ronaldo and adore him maybe even more so than non Brazilians there's just anither dynamic to it
