Akitas are one man (or woman) dogs. When my brother lay dying, his Akita, Sham was restless. We decided to get Sham and bring him to the bedside but my brother breathed his last as I was going. We heard Sham wail. He cried most of the night after almost destroying his enclosure, next morning, Sham had passed as well. Freaky but true.

Kal is a beautiful boy, only those that have shared time with this wonderful breed would appreciate the love and loyalty.

Kal gives the same vibes as Henry, big and tough but sweet and a little crazy, protective and handsome as heck, beautiful doggy ❤️I’d love to give both of them a huge hug 🤗

When you've got a dog in your life the days seem so much sweeter.

I had a part Akita dog, he was my protector, he took on coyotes and even a young bear! He lived to be almost 16 years. He used to dig up my roses when a puppy and when he crossed the rainbow bridge he showed me roses...i had forgotten the roses and he was telling me to get roses that they were from him. I still have them. His ashes are in our front yard protecting me yet. Will never be a dog like him..his name was Nico. He was black and everyone thought he was a black wolf. But he was not a dog that liked to many people..haha

Having had the honor of adopting 3 Akitas, I can say they are incredible companions. I have learned so much from my boys. While this breed is not right for everyone, I am totally in awe of their intelligence and loyalty. IMO, the BEST dogs EVER!

I Have a 9 Year old American Akita named Raion ( means Lion in Japanese) although he is still quite healthy I will be Heartbroken when he passes 😞 I have an incredible bond with Him ! He rescued me from a wild pitbull ; the owner was a criminal , My Big Boy beat The Dog badly ! No one messes with Daddy ! But he is very friendly and gentle with 99.9 percent of people , Great with Séniors and Children ! But he can sniff out a bad person in a second !
