Kaleidoscope Colander Pour: NEW Color Scheme / Arteza Acrylic Paints / Acrylic Pouring / Fluid Art
So i wanted to see how the arteza pouch colors would hold up in my colander pour. I dont super care for the color scheme i chose (looks a little like Christmas to me) but I wish I could have a whole painting of just those little kaleidoscopes with the gold!

Looked very awesome...have yet to try the collender pour ...but will try it soon as I get one...( can't use our kitchen one.... LOL) also need something to spin it on too....

Molly, I really like it. I can see a whole bunch of fish in there, it's so cool!! Well done for always showing your work, whether you're happy with it or not. I wish you could capture what was left in the colander. That was beautiful too. I didn’t want want you to move the canvas at all. I just love the sundial effect. Also try spinning the colander while pouring the paint in with this thicker consistency. I love the stability of it. It doesn’t look like Christmas. Looks tropical to me. I love the color combination.

This design would make gorgeous round place mats for the Christmas Dinner table, and of course could be done in the colour scheme of each individuals table!! I don't think it looks overly Christmassy you got me thinking about that! Thanks for the tips on what to do if the paint is sliding off one side😁.

I mixed some of this paint last night and I had to add 2 parts pouring medium to one part paint and water. I’ll try it a little thicker today.

Silicone is not necessary for fluid art but when it is used it creates these ring type cells with multiple colors in them

Looks great and I love the color combo. When you were spinning it reminded me of a resin spinning video by a young couple named Evan and Katelyn. They did a resin spinning video that includes instructions about destroying a fan to make an electric powered lazy susan gizmo. I highly recommend making something similar for your spinning artworks then plug it into a surge protector with on/off switch for ease of use and because it is safer than plugging/unplugging.

Molly if your color goes in one direction only you should rotate the spin to the opposite side then it would go all the way to all the edges. Love this one. Ian South Africa

Molly how long can you keep paint (artists loft) mixed with floetrol and silicone in a bottle before it’s no good to use in s pour.

Well, I don't normally mix silicine in my paints, but it should be the shortest shelf life of what you are using. Most say 6 month to 1 year. I go through mine wayyyy faster than that. And I only add water at the time of pouring for fear of mold

Thanks! If you are taking about gloss medium and varnish I use creative inspirations brand. If you are talking about varnish after the painting has cured, I use liquitex high gloss varnish

So the silicon pad just makes contact with the wood of the canvas and that’s enough to hold it in place while you spin?

Yep! On larger pieces I just put large sticks underneath and it stays!

Good work Molly. I wonder if round canvases are made. These types of pours would look great on round ones. You wouldn't have to stretch it so much, even though your creations turn out awesome when you do stretch them.

Yes, they are made, I have done tons of pours on the round canvases as well and you are right, they are easier! But they are also more expensive lol
