@Sudheerv1328 comedy is just seasoning in an action movie unless one is making an action comedy. You make an excellent point.that comedy probably lands in Telugu but may have been lost in translation. All of the movies that you mentioned like and especially Guardians of the galaxy are supposed to be action comedy. Kalki is like meeting Sci fi and mythology together and is advertised like an epic not anything like Guardians of the Galaxy. Avengers is an exception and back then they knew how to use comedy to its advantage, Coming to whether we missed the trend or we lack knowledge on comedy, let me rather explain you the recent trend. Why did Ms Marvels, Dr Strange and Multiverse of Madness, Ant Man Quantumania fail so miserably? Why is Disney in a panic mode? Why are they rethinking their strategy? Because the comedy is too much. Most people have said that any tension, any seriousness is taken away by constant poor jokes, on top of it bad story and virtue signalling. And this is all recent 2-4 years stuff, so our knowledge is pretty much on point.

@@weekends_with_us my point is that it is not uncommon to have comedy in a sci-fi film, that is the trend in sci-fi movies. Nag Ashwin has many times clearly stated that prabhas character has many shades and will crack many jokes. May be you were expecting something else but those who follow the film were expecting it. Also note that the trailer, bujji episodes on prime all gave the expectation that prabhas will be funny. My only problem is Disha’s character and story could have been better.

Hey, thank you for watching our video. We can assure there is no contempt towards Telugu movies, in fact RRR is an all time favourite of ours and no other movie has come close to it. In this movie the humour was misplaced and maybe if it was a bit less, would have been more palatable. We can say for sure though Prabhas has done a much better job than some of his previous movies like Salaar, Radhe Shyam or Adipurush. He does have a good screen presence.

@@weekends_with_us No, I was not defending Prabhas, but I think this sort of Hero playing shady multi-layered characters is very new to most of us in India. We like our hero's doing only great things, no engage in banter with bujji (which would have been more fun if not for bad dubbing). I do get your point around why humor when the story is serious, but i think fun along the way is good. Amitabh is great but pretty stoic, unidimensional with much variations. Kamal was super impactful among all.

Worst film

Had you been a little patient and actually watched our video before writing your essay on "Bland" you would have seen we have actually appreciated the movie. But we are not "blind" fans either. And what we felt unnecessary or rather could have not had the impact maybe because of dubbing was called out. We are a channel where we individually could have our own opinions as well. It's all about perspectives. If you have a perspective, do share. Instead of labelling us or anyone for that matter. Hope it's LOUD and CLEAR.
