Why anyone will hate him he definitely gave the idea of stripping Draupadi but don't forget the injustice which he had to face from early childhood because of Kunti abandoning him. He was just a fighter who wanted to fight wholeheartedly and wanted to master archery no wonder he had achieved that and was the only one who could give competition to Arjun in archery. The fact is that mahabharat teaches us the principles of war and in war there is no right and wrong and no friendship there's only one rule i.e. kill or get killed. Though this thing happened during the dice match but Karna took this intensely and wanted to show the pandavas of his wrath and hatred for them. He didn't had much choice from the start so he allowed getting manipulated by the Kauravas and was still loyal to them.

@Otaku42084 Bro, I request you to please read mahabhrat. Yes, it was his misfortune that kunti abandoned him. But Adhirath and Radha had taken care of him very well. They were rich family, Adhirath was Dhritarastra's friend and charioteer. He was never discriminated by anyone. Drona also agreed to teach him archery, but from there also he started jealousy and competition with Arjuna. Duryodhan befriended him from there. It was his decision to leave Drona gurukul to teach brahmastra, because Dronachariya refused him, assuming his intentions. Secondly, He was not a great friend either, because when Duryodhan get imprisoned by the ghandharva's karna ran away saving his life while Arjuna came and saved Duryodhan despite all of his misdeeds. Thirdly, There are many warriors who were equal to karna, Like:- Aswathama. In Virat yudh when all the Kaurav army and maharathis including Drona, Karna, Duryodhan lost to Arjun, It was Aswathama who gave Arjuna a very good fight and not retreated. Karna had lost to Satyaki and Bhima also in archery, though he defeated them later. He was the one who was defeated by abhimanyu and broke his bow by cheating. So, despite his unfortunate birth he hardly faced any kind of struggle in life, Duryodhan also made him king of Anga. He also failed to string the bow in Draupadi Swayambar. ( YES, HE PARTICIPATED AND FAILED ) Reality is Arjuna's life was way more tougher, He born in the jungle, then his cousins always tried to harm him and his brothers. Then the lakshagriha incident happened, they again came to jungle. Then the dice gamble happened, again they came to the jungle... He had to fight against his beloved Pitamaha, Guru and brothers
