Great ma’am !! From your lectures I learn one thing about African literature I don’t know why but I feel disgusting about pre-colonial Indian and African tradition and old fashioned customs . Had the British not come there (India and Africa) they wouldn’t have transformed. I appreciate your way of teaching and narrating the story. Wonderful ma’am!

Your subject knowledge along with effective communication skill compelled me to watch and enjoy the full video. It's really benefitting me a lot to prepare myself for NET. I would have done so right here, but there is no microphone to do that. In the end, despite Lakunle's pleas, Sidi decides to marry Baroka instead of Lakunle. She realizes that although Baroka is old, he is wiser and more experienced in life and love than the young schoolteacher. The play suggests that the best solution is for tradition and modernity to work together, rather than attempting to erase one or the other.

Lakunle does not reject Sidi when he learns that she was raped by Baroka in Wole Soyinka's play "The Lion and the Jewel". In fact, when Sidi reveals that Baroka took her virginity, Lakunle sees it as an opportunity to marry her without having to pay the traditional bride price.
