I'm not a Jewish person at all. I'm a sincere practicing Catholic Christian but I agree with Ben. Celebrating a sacred holiday like Hanukkah and Christmas should never be taken lightly. It should be taken seriously.

Ben I am Jewish, brought up by an orthodox European father, and an American Jewish mother. We always had gifts, ate brisket, potato pancakes, and mom lit the menorah. It was a happy holiday, where the family exchanged gifts, and ate traditional Jewish food. My mom also made a big dinner at Christmas, since my father who worked 7 days and 5 nights a week had a half a day off of work. Mom did not come from a religious family, her father was an Irish Jew, not religious, and 4 of moms siblings remained Jewish, 4 converted to Christianity.

As a Christian who celebrates the true meaning of Christmas: the celebration of my Lord and Savior’s birth. I stand with you Ben, this is disgusting that they would mock God’s people. I worked with a Jewish family who taught me a lot of the various religious celebrations, I know more about Hanukkah than Kamala’s husband.

I’m not Jewish and am mortified that someone that isn’t Jewish is trying to tell Jews what Judaism is about. Ridiculous!!

Over the years I have had the pleasure of having people in my life who were practicing Jews and were able to explain the reasons behind Hanukkah 🕎. In high school we had a family next door who were happy to discuss their faith with me…not debate but talk about their beliefs. So interesting to discover where my faith as a Christian grew from. I was also asked to attend synagogue and did so. Interesting.

My son was curious about Hanukkah and started asking a family friend questions. We were pleasantly surprised that his family invited us to join them in celebrating Hanukkah. We really learned alot - most of what you discussed in your video. My son still remembers this experience. I always hoped that through these experience it would make him a better and more knowledgeable person. That he would learn to respect others beliefs and have appreciation for others religious and cultural beliefs. Even through it differed from his own upbringing. Thank you again for sharing.

I'm a Christian and I was brought up on the Bible very much including delving deeply into the Torah, and what Christians refer to as the Old Testament/Covenant. Because of my upbringing and studies in the Bible, I developed a great love of and respect for the Jewish people and the Land of Israel, God's Promised Land to Abraham and his descendants through Issac. When I taught elementary school, so that we could appreciate Hanukkah along with Christmas - from a historical perspective at least - we read about how the Macabees fought back against Roman tyranny and what was done to the temple as a great insult to the God of Israel; how the temple had to be cleansed and how it was said that the small amount of oil they had to burn in the temple lasted the entire cleansing time. We did make dreidels and how the children used them to get information passed on, and so much more. It was a great study and, I believe the children I taught will remember at least some of it. Christmas was ruined long ago by having Santa and gifts the center of it.

I am a Christian who celebrates Hanukkah and teaches my daughters about the Maccabees. That in this world we have to go against the flow and hold onto The Bible and to continue to follow what it says. We are not to conform to this world but to be set apart to God.

Our group has done an in-depth study of Hanukah, and as you stated it is so much more than what the western church represents it to be! Keep up the good work speaking truth!
