Roy Khan was physically sick at this performance and this was also the time that he was at his worst suffering from Depression and anxiety. For those who don’t know what these two feel like, it’s hell especially if you have them both at the same time. Also I heard that he couldn’t hear himself at this concert. Big big respect to Roy khan. Watch him in other live concerts and you’ll be amazed by his beautiful powerful voice always perfectly in tune with perfect key! God bless Roy Khan!

What surprises me is that on 6:35 he does that part perfectly and in time, even sick, even having troubled with the sound. Khan, I will always respect you.

There's nothing worse than the Hell of having to sing live through sickness. Khan's songs are challenging enough as it is. Total respect.

Touring relentlessly and singing as hard as Roy does is all that caused this, not drugs. Im a vocalist too and i kno that a person has to rest in between. They play instruments in his band, but the human voice as an instrument cant just have its strings replaced or retuned. It requires rest to come back into its power. Observe how many crappy concerts Cornell of soundgarden had and compare to album. It wasnt the drugs-- just the difficulty of the music and frequency of playing it.

I feel so sorry for Roy, imagine standing there in front of that massive crowd and knowing that you can't give it all due to an illness. Massive props for not calling it off and going along with it - who gives a damn if he was off que, he's super cool for at least trying, and the band gave him the support and encouragement by continuing playing.

When you put yourself, your reputation, and your health on the line for the fans, when so many would run away from the pressure, you know you have guts. Khan really is great and so is Kamelot as a whole, before this, during, and all the way until now. Rock on no matter what!

Roy Khan is one of the greatest rock singers of all time, he was obviously sick and not feeling well here...

Being a singer myself, I can tell you that when singing live, you sort of.. divide your focus into separate parts, one for staying on key, one for lyrics, one for making sure your stage prescence is okay, one for keeping track of your vocal registers, one for vibrato, one for tone control. So usually when something goes wrong (like monitors) you have to split your focus even more to deal with it, and usually the first thing to go is lyrics. It's happened to me multiple times :/

It’s hard to see and listen to Roy…. He is an amazing singer. But sometimes the voice gets tired and will not do what the brain tells it to do. I’m a rock vocalist myself, and I’ve been There a couple of times. It’s so hard! Struggeling with every high note- and You use all the energy that’s possible, but the voice will not respond. Roy is one of the best metal singers ever🤘🏼

Messed up vocal chords and singing ridiculously hard music in front of 70k people in an open air theater where you can't hear on stage & I guarantee you'll forget your mother not just your lyrics. When you're so used to being in total control of your voice it may have shocked him. Band should've changed keys if he was in such bad shape. Shit happens. Saw soul society & Mephisto at this same wacken, he worked around the vocal chords & held his shit together slightly better, still painful to watch

There is a distinct difference between weakened or strained vocals and singing almost the entire song out of tempo. I hate when people criticise my favorite bands live, saying they suck when they make mistakes...yet, when Roy, George Kollias or Dream Theater mess up, then it's okay.

And if u watch "Rule the world" or "Center of the universe" from Wacken then they did really well. I would think that he was probably a bit sick and got tired towards the end.

And I think, years of singing showed that even more. when you are young and the voice is almost new it is brighter than the following years, is normal. But now, maybe he will be performing in his real range for the good of himself. just an opinion. hugs

And it wasn't just that. Ok... the voice problems: throat illness, vocal cords illness, whatever... The tempo problems: singer monitors, phone issues... But... to sing so much stuff that are not on the lyrics (a song he knows very well...) yeah... Listen from 2:10 to 2:18... What was that...? And what about 4:12? (rise the sound volume so u can hear he speaking...) Yeah.... But I know Roy is really great now; happy and healthy. Long life to Roy Khan, one of the greatest singers ever!

Não é doenca! é apenas uma Disfonia vocal que muitos vocalistas sofrem...as cordas vocais nao se recuperam tao facil...Passo por isso pelo menos 2x ao ano... Todos nos temos disfonia vocal ...porem só e notavel ao cantar agudos de voz de cabeça, a voz de peito ainda sai mais limpo...enfim. triste ver ! mas ainda é um dos meus preferidos !
