I love that I found this 10 years later, a Kamelot song with Roy Khan that I hadn't listened to yet.

Have you checked out his newer stuff with Conception? It's actually really good! I'm glad he was able to get back into metal, and it's pretty accessible if you like Kamelot.

They call me The Wild Rose But my name was Elisa Day Why they call me it I do not know For my name was Elisa Day From the first day I saw her I knew she was the one She stared in my eyes and smiled For her lips were the colour of the roses That grew down the river, all bloody and wild When he knocked on my door and entered the room My trembling subsided in his sure embrace He would be my first man, and with a careful hand He wiped at the tears that ran down my face They call me The Wild Rose But my name was Elisa Day Why they call me that I do not know For my name was Elisa Day On the second day I brought her a flower She was more beautiful than any woman I'd seen I said, "Do you know where the wild roses grow So sweet and scarlet and free?" On the second day he came with a single red rose He said "Will you give me your loss and your sorrow" I nodded my head, as I lay on the bed "If I show you the roses, will you follow?" They call me The Wild Rose But my name was Elisa Day Why they call me that I do not know For my name was Elisa Day On the third day he took me to the river He showed me the roses and we kissed And the last thing I heard was a muttered word As he stood above me with a rock in his fist On the last day I took her where the wild roses grow And she lay on the bank, the wind light as a thief And I kissed her goodbye, said, "All beauty must die" And I lent down and planted a rose between her teeth They call me The Wild Rose But my name was Elisa Day Why they call me that I do not know For my name was Elisa Day For my name was Elisa Day For my name was Elisa Day

This song and Ties That Bind are bonus tracks that should have been on the main album. This song is absolutely gorgeous and I'm pleased to discover another Roy Khan era Kamelot song :)

Take a good half of the pop songs, give them a slightly more metal base, make them sing by metal singers, and suddently you have a lot of good songs.

What gets me is the album artwork. It's both very gothic and beautiful at the same time.
@Dimaria-White3 жыл бұрын
Gothic is supposed to be beautifull. A lot of people don't get that. They think it's to shock...

@@Dimaria-White exactly: it should be both scary and beautiful, like the figure of an ancient castle emerging in the night when the thunder strikes the earth, and the shadows are torn apart for just a brief moment of unexpected awe and of a new different terror.

... A bold subjective opinion ... Well, well, well...what about the original Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue?
@azvedi14752 жыл бұрын
In 2014, British music magazine New Musical Express ranked "Where the Wild Roses Grow" performed by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Kylie Minogue as 378th on its list of "500 Greatest Songs of All Time."

Because of Khan's voice..?
@darksilence1772 Жыл бұрын
Would be cooler if it was a different female singer imo! Roy needs to sing with someone better 😬😆
