Bit late to the party. Very interesting video. I have often been tempted by one of these but heard the horror stories regarding quality control. Still tempted by the final generation model but they are asking insane prices on eBay . A Coal Sector ViTrains 37 currently at time of writing the seller is asking £114.95 plus postage. I am keen but not that keen.

letzterinstanz Hello Reinhard, maybe not your era so thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. They are simple to fix and rewarding to run being very smooth. Don't understand how because they are thrown together very cheaply, lol. Will show that in part 2. Thanks again Reinhard, Jerry

Great video Jerry, I bought David Lloyd George abot 3 years ago, traction tyres missing so it has never run in revenue earning service, just spent the best part of an hour on the phone, no joy, where might you get yours from if needed. Keep up the good work your video s are very informative without all the spurious waffle

Hi Jerry, very good and comprehensive video. I have a couple of ViTrains Class 37’s and had similar issues you had. All the nose cones were separated from the body, lights falling apart, bits dropping off. The biggest issue I had was soldering points coming away from the circuit board, terrible to re-solder them. They do however run very well…Simon

Hi Jerry Great video, I never bought any ViTrain models as I had heard about a few of the issues, which put me off. Ive seen the models fully detailed and they do look almost better than Bachmann. Hows your tts loco running now. Ive been given some settings 'cravensdmufan' has been working on and they seem to work on all my tts locos, give them a try and see what you think. CV3 =100 CV4=30 CV150=1 CV151=25 CV152=5 CV153=30 CV154=1 My 31 runs like a dream now and the 37 isnt juddering on start off anymore. Cheers Paul

G'day Paul, That is great information to have, thank you. I'll try it today! Whilst okay, as you obviously know, they are still a little jerky on take off especially the 31. So thanks again and I'll report back. The 37 has a small amount of judder so again will try it. Really appreciate you passing that info on. Take care, Jerry

Hi Jerry Fingers crossed that it works, my 3 tts are so much better I'm going to get a 20 and 66 when they are released. Have a look for cravensdmufan on you tube as he did all the work. Cheers Paul

Hi Jerry, very interesting video, declared beautiful, one question I have! Have you purchased the locomotive used? Did I understand correctly that not even 50 pounds cost you? Jerry the sound decoder in class 37, is the one from Hornby? Greetings Andreas
@jerryallen34

Erzgebirger 20 Hi Andreas, in the day they were under 40 pounds. Today about 70. Yes I've put a TTS decoder in one . Cheers and thank you for the nice comments, Jerry

Erzgebirger 20 They are a bit rough compared to these. The mechanism is totally different and nothing like the modern locos. Cheers Jerry
