Ruby is really becoming more and more like Ai Hoshino herself. But the levels of their grief are different. I think Ruby as a person is very important and she's a great character. If we ignore her obsession with the doctor and all, till this point this girl has literally been side-casted and she has hidden so many of her emotions. What disappoints and maybe annoys me is that Aqua still treats Ai like an idol. Aqua is honestly, intellectually not very smart. I'll be honest. He couldn't figure out Ai at all. How easily he said, "Ai never cried", as if he was that close with her after all. His character is that of a fan and that's all there is to it. His entire perspective or purpose for protecting Ai wasn't because he loved her for her true self, but because he was her fan. He loved what she gave. But Ruby made an effort to understand her mother. She accepted Ai as her family, she knew Ai was hiding lots of feelings. In the recent chapter 136, she threw a plate at the door in anger after Nino (Kana) left the room, and Gotanda or the director recorded this to capture Ai's true emotions. Ai and Ruby are mother and daughter, and they're very much like each other. Ai was more of a black star, she didn't love her fans from the start and just wanted to survive. Ruby on the other hand loved them, and works towards achieving fame and greatness to her mother's level. But both of them lie. Ruby was hurt. But she had Kana and mem. She is naive, I'll say, unlike Ai. Ruby is naive to the fact that Kana hated her. But now, she has finally broken and has shown Ai's true emotions. I think as readers, we also never expected Ai to be like this, cry or show rage. I myself was like Aqua, and never expected Ai to be sad or let the feelings of loneliness get to her. Like nino said, she was thought to be an "invincible" idol. I think some points are exaggerated and some things need better clarification, but Aka Akasaka has written an amazing charater in Ai. She's long dead and we never saw anything from her perspective, but the perspectives of those around her. It really shows how the life of idols is. Smiling, laughing and dancing, giving visuals and having fun. I don't say its the fans or the industry, its the mentality. Idols put themselves in that, they were the ones who went for fame and love. Now if it backfires, they cant be completely innocent. But here in this manga, I've noticed that Aqua is not at all a reliable narrator. This boy's perspective is foolish and naive. He's dumber than Ruby! And you guys simp over him? Make a fight between Kana and Arima because of him? Lol. Since when did he become worth it. He uses people, but not once has he solved any case himself. Literally if Akane didn't exist, he'd never find Hikaru Kamiki and would've went on living like that. He couldn't even understand what his idol truly was. Ruby understood better than him.

See, I write fanfiction. So what Ruby and Aqua are trying to do in this chapter, getting into the mind of a person/character, figuring out what the real them is like, their real driving motivation, what's important to them, their ideology, their worldview, all of that is stuff I do quite regularly for a lot of characters. I started planning out an ONK fanfiction and because Ai is such a beloved character by so many people (including myself) I wanted to do her justice if I was going to build on her character and do so in a realistic and believable way. I realized four things during my exploration of her character that I don't think I've seen a lot of people talking about. 1. Ai doesn't want to love. 2. Ai lies to herself. 3. Ai is not unique. 4. Ai is afraid. These are some fascinating revelations that, when I supplanted them in my fanon version of Ai, really made her feel like the real Ai. So I've really started to think that they might be true. and when Aqua said "Ai never cried" I think we can all agree that that's not true. She just never showed her tears because, it was all part of the lie.

Because breaking Ruby is the only way for her to see the real Ai, let's be honest-.. Ruby still got naivety inside her, Kana sees that Ruby is amazing but lacking so- thanks to her she gave her a development, sacrificing the mental health of her and Ruby and their bond so Ruby will understand how Ai feels.

Really hoping that Ruby and Kana cam fix things up! The next chapter Will be intense

I'm really like we get to see others character perspective of Kana & Ruby friend dynamic because I found their friendship is so underrated even before the fiasco in chp 133. Also we finally see Gotanda & Aqua dynamic again but still where's Miyako. Its funny she's absent when her idol is having a issue.

I will only say that the Knife-chan is directly only the head of Arima Kana, again Akasaka tells us again that it will be Kana who will receive the stab by Ruby, and it makes all the sense in the world, Akasaka shows us the parallel that exists between the betrayal of Nino with Ai, and the one Kana has with Ruby, the same circumstances of hatred and envy, which surely led the first Nino to conspire with an evil plan and murder against Hoshino Ai, will story repeat itself? Story can rhyme but never repeat itself, and that is the key, Ruby must fulfill Ai's dream, singing in the dome, and the only way for that to happen is if she does not receive the stab of punishment that Kamiki has prepared for her, and that greater a sign of the immense love that Kana has for Ruby, than to show the rest of her feelings to this Nino, receive the stab, receive the bullet that goes towards this false Hoshino Ai, exactly what wonderful turn of events will be weaving in Akasaka's mind by making it so that instead of Hoshino Ai dying, she is saved by the person who always hates her, what better way to corroborate Gotanda's words: "Kana Arima will absolutely protect Ruby Hoshino, no matter what happens" 😣👌💗💛
