As Kanatan said, her status in Akukin is very ambiguous because she never really get direct statement from Aqua regarding her employment apart from her rejection that she remembers. And the most solid statement we have at the moment is from Aqua that said Kanatan is a freelancer employed by Akukin, not really its employee (Aqua said this to the viewers recently when they both met near Usada Casino). Giving permanent employment to a talented freelancer is actually a smart move by a company. And more than anything, they really wants to have fun playing together. Moona and Kanatan both mentioned they both have history playing together in Ark in the past together. And Kanatan seems really happy to be invited. So it's all good for them.

Servers with an economy is a fairly common thing. The widely popular Hermitcraft series for example have elaborately decorated shops selling all kinds of stuff. Different players build different farms and they trade the results with diamonds as a currency. I'm personally more a fan of servers where people freely collaborate and do projects together (like in a socialist utopia).

@@gehirndoper I've let my ignorance show today i guess. I do know of Hermitcraft but haven't reallly investigated at all. Aren't diamonds a little too rare and useful to use as a currency though? Wouldn't that be like an economy that only trades in $100 bills. Have they dealt with that somehow? I can think of many trades that would just be too small to meet the value of a single diamond. Meanwhile there are many trades already in the game that show how low of value a single emerald can be traded for. It also seems like you'd quickly start to run out of diamonds if you actually use them like diamonds. Through stuff like crafting and repairing tools and armor, which would then increase their value. They'd also only be obtainable through hours of deep underground mining. Emeralds can be obtained through many tasks much smaller than mining, like collecting crops, or gravel, or making paper, which you then trade to the villagers.There also isn't many ways to naturally use up or destroy emeralds. One of their only uses is to be turned into a block. The block can still be traded with as a larger unit of currency and it likely won't be destroyed or used up in that form. It can only be stored, placed, or turned back into emeralds. I'd like to know how diamonds became the currency of the Hermitcraft server, but for Holoserver if they ever do try this i think emeralds would make the most sense. Especially since they're trading with it already anyway.

​@@jonatanluna1061 Diamond's aren't useful in established servers since you get tools from villagers, enchant with anvil & books and repair with mending, but they are rare and pretty enough to serve as currency. One can get easily over 30 diamonds an hour doing low-effort strip mining with decent tools, so I'd say 1 diamond = 1$ if we compare it to real life labour. If a diamond represents less than two minutes of work, it's a reasonable unit of trade. Additionally, diamonds aren't consumed through trade and servers generally get richer and richer, meaning the market will get more liquid over time. But in general, any item can work for trade as long as it's limited in supply. For HoloServer, emeralds might work, but not for a technical server. With a proper trading setup one can get tens of thousands of emeralds per hour.

@@gehirndoper Yeah that makes sense to me. I bet for a server filled with much more experienced players, lowering the value of diamonds wouldn't be too difficult. I don't think Holoserver is quite there though. Especially since there's probably less than 10 members with a good grasp on how to create an automatic mob/item farm on the server.
