it’s the “they will have the romance of a lifetime made up exclusively of stares... and more stares...” meme but like,,, in a good way I’m still pretty new to the series so I’m only partway through SoC so far but I’ve just got to the point where Kaz carries Inej when she’s injured and I can already tell this relationship is going to kill me 😭

I love watching Freddy’s and Amita’s interviews especially when they’re talking about their characters. They clearly understand the assignment and how to portray their characters really well. I also really like the interview when Freddy talks about Kaz’s feelings after Inej goes against her faith and kills for him to protect him. They’re just wonderful. I can’t wait to see more Kaz and Inej in season 2. I hope we get more scenes of the Crows in season 2.

You can REALLY tell when the actors thoroughly read & deeply care about the integrity of the source material. It really shows here in the execution of their characters. When an established book series is being adapted to screen & the actors, *writers*, director, producer, etc. haven't read them IMHO it often takes away from how amazing it could have truly been. I appreciate their dedication.

I first watched the show and only afterwards picked up the book because the cast made me like the crows so much, especially Amita and Freddy. While reading, I can perfectly picture them (okay, I picture a bit younger versions of them, but who cares). And I think they perfectly captured the pull and the trauma these two have. When Kaz (in the show) tries to push Inej away, to me at least, it was perfectly clear that he did it because he couldn’t handle nor understand his feelings. It seemed like he wanted what’s good for her and at the same time noticed that he feels something for her that people could use against him. That he feared for her and himself and still had that calculating part in him, telling him to get rid of anything that could be used against him. And that aligns pretty well with what I’m reading in the books.
