I love the fact that there’s no jumpscare, the tension just builds and builds and then the video ends and leaves you with your mind racing and wondering what happens next. This is exactly my kind of horror.

I love how quickly and realistically this goes from a guy wanting to show off something cool, thinking he found some awesome phenomenon and knowing he's gonna get millions of views through this discovery... to the panic setting in as he realizes this is so much bigger than him. You can _feel_ the confusion and anxiety setting in the deeper he goes. "I am not supposed to be here." 10/10 acting.

The fact he didn't mention just how insanely deep he was by just the first corner is crazy. He was already past bedrock before the first turn!

The level at which the stairs descend into the earth along with the ominous lighting really give the feeling that Wyatt is descending into a grave.

The dialogue is the best part of these videos. It's so insanely natural. The way it sounds like the youtuber is actually THINKING about what to say, making mistakes, changing his mind... Trying to think of ways to explain what's going on and how to make it entertaining. It's amazing how natural it sounds. It sounds like an actual KZfaq video of some guy trespassing to show a cool tunnel.

Wow, just the pure dread I felt as he slowly walks down these unexplainable stairs, slowly getting deeper and darker and Wyatt’s voice gets quieter is just perfect. I love it

I’m freaking out over the cgi. This is amazing!!! I couldn’t wait to finish this video before commenting, I just had to compliment this.

I like to think just how absurdly dangerous these stairs would be. If you notice, they are not uniform in height or length. It seems subtle but it really throws you off. Medieval castles would deliberately do this to make it more difficult for invaders. Combine that with an absurdly long, uninterrupted staircase without handrails. It's a recipe for disaster. Imagine a group walking them. The more people, the more dangerous they become. If just one were to misstep and tumble, it would take out everybody in the group beneath them.

Kane is a master at suspenseful horror, no jump scares, literally just a guy walking down an incredibly long flight of stairs and then finding what looks like an abandoned shopping mall. The whole time I was wondering when someone was going to be at the top of the stairs leaving that guy with no where to go.

The absolute terror in his voice as he rounded the corner on the staircase and realized how huge it actually was so realistic. Phenomenal acting.

The last part where the mall is revealed and the music fades in completely is just brilliant. My favorite scene in the whole series. You’re brilliant, my man.

This is absolutely amazing. The footage, the suspense, the mood. No cheap jumpscares, just the human curiosity together with the fear of the unknown. Superb!

I love how the door and room at the bottom of the stairs is a symbol for the transition into a world of nothing but death and decay. Shit looks like a decrepit sewer or crematorium or a dungeon or something. The filth covering the walls and the wrought iron gate, juxtaposed against the “clean” but barren aesthetic of the stores in the mall, my god. The blue gray carpet, the little piles of random garbage littered around the carpet which is exactly what you would see in an abandoned mall. The attention to detail is insane. We’re so lucky to have you Kane.

The CGI work turned out so convincing and realistic, I'm really blown away. It's so interesting and so unsettling at the same time. It's not because Kane has to use stupid jumpscares, it's because of the mood, the sound design and the liminal spaces. Overwhelming, I'm so glad that something like this exists. It just pulls me into its spell.

I get shivers every time Wyatt said “I’m not supposed to be here” INSANE!!!! The level of dread is INCREDIBLE.

I have just been suggested this by my friend after retelling him a nightmare I had months ago and by far the scariest part is the idea of having to go back up all those stairs. Fantastic work, this looks SO good.

The fact i was HOOKED to a video of a person walking down stone stairs speaks volumes. This new series has filled me with intrigue beyond words.

I get such House of Leaves vibes when he's going down the stairs, but when he enters the door suddenly it feels like someone wanted to know what Silent Hill would feel like if it were empty. Pure chills.

The dry trail surrounded by high grass in the first part of the video invokes such powerful nostalgia to a place I know isn’t actually there anymore. China Camp Beach in California had a trail so similar to that that I still know what it smelled like to be there. I still know how it felt to carry a paddle board on my shoulder, to feel the little pricks on my feet from all the burrs in the grass. I haven’t been to California, much less China Camp Beach in several years, and I may never be there again. Even still, this is powerful stuff, and it connects dots I had forgotten the location of. Rat Rock Island, a tiny rocky outcropping in the water that the geese would nest on. The tiny, grassy beach with dense clay and silt rather than sand. Even the little red streaks of blood from the clams I stepped on are glowing through rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia. It’s such a brief moment in this series, and yet it is everything to me.

I feel like mentioning the smell of cut grass might have something to with the mechanical purpose of "grass smell". The smell of cut grass is a defense mechanism evolved by plants, intended to alert predators to the presence of prey animals. In this context, maybe it's intended to serve as a warning to anyone who enters here.

The further he went down those stairs, the more uncomfortable I got. Claustrophobia and the thought of being trapped deep underground are definitely things that get to me. And just... things that don't make any goddamn sense. Not to mention the thought of encountering a person in a place you're not supposed to be... or something else. Excellent work as always, Kane. Looking forward to the next one!

I was at my office late at night last night and while I was returning from the restroom. I heard the loud, unmistakable sound of caster wheels from gthe cleaning crew and immediately turned around super quick thinking I’d see homeboy. LOL

I like the fact that it starts like I’m actually watching a vlog, and the fact that you can combine the real world with cgi is amazing.

this is actually insane. no jumpscares, no entities, nothing that can be traditionally considered scary. but it might be your most terrifying video yet. fantastic work.

Man, with the other videos there was a degree to which I could figure out it was just an animation posing as hyperreality, but in this one I couldn't tell how much of it was practical or not. The stairs and the textures look so convincing but it shouldn't be. That inability to really tell what's real or not adds a lot to the liminal space horror.

First time watching and I have to applaud you for the staircase in the woods but it goes down instead of up to nowhere. I feel like that reminder to never trust stairs in the woods in the back of your head as you're watching this is ever present. I love the exploration horror. This is amazing.

I like how Kane knows exactly what we want and finds a way to work around the Backrooms and A24 to give it to us. And on top of that, it gives us a completely new mystery to ponder.

He took this real abandoned mall, researched it and its fun history. This could be just as compelling as his Backrooms videos if not BETTER. This is new and fresh yet has the same charm as the Backrooms videos. I was a bit worried Kane was gonna do something too different that strays from what brought people to his channel, but oh no, this seems to have everything that the Backrooms series did. I CANNOT WAIT for Part 3, but who knows how long that could take to produce!!

Reminds me of a stairwell from a reoccurring dream from childhood. Except the overhead lighting was white Fluorescent tube lights. I'd finally get to where it felt like a room or door would be, but it was just a landing & the stairs would continue downward in a different direction. Cool video.🎇✨

I love the AdamtheWoo/Dan Bell commentary, the script and especially delivery make this infinitely more believable as a real urban exploration video. Although I guess this would technically be rural exploration considering where the entrance is. The extremely long underground staircase gives me mad Silent Hill 2 vibes, like when you spend 5-10 minutes on the ultra long staircase from the Historical Society to the prison underground. The effects are all around outstanding, I have no clue how you managed to make this all look so good, especially with the shots of the outside of the ground hole and the entrance to the stairway, that shit looks real dude.

Just finally getting around to watching this, and I loved your Backrooms stuff too! Really cracks me up that this made it onto Nuke's Top 5 as "real found footage." I think that means you've done your job exceptionally well!

I don't know where to begin my praise for this video. I could, of course, mention how damn realistic it feels or the strangely satisfying sound design, but I feel like that's already a given. I feel like I'm enjoying this series just as much, if not more, than some of the Backrooms videos, just because of how much of a meme the latter has become. Someone already mentioned this, but it really feels like a staircase I would make in minecraft, especially some of the shots where it stretches so high up or down that you don't know if you're looking up or down it. In addition, I am very happy that we're getting more content during the development of the Backrooms movie. It's nice to have something to hold me over until it comes out.

I love the contrast of how sunny and safe the forest is with how dark and unnerving the tunnel is, like going from heaven straight into hell

I honestly like this even more than the backrooms stuff, its so uncanny and realistic. There's no monsters or corporations, just a purely unexplainable exploration of a mysterious location. You are genuinely such a skilled film maker with a passion for creativity!

Kane really is a master of non-Euclidean horror with the way he instills fear solely with the impossible settings. The way the steps even began to warp and look more menacing as he descended was fantastic. Keep it up, I'm always ready for more of this man's work.

This entire video reminds me of one of my favorite lovecraftian short stories The Nameless City, the entire story was just a man going down stairs and finding out he doesnt belong and beings lived before him, and there is no payoff as the protagonist just runs away when the climax builds but it still is chilling.

How is it that no one else has noticed the CLEAR Silent Hill aesthetics, imagery and theme. The inspiration hit me immediately. Not just the room at the bottom of the stairs, but the unnaturally long stairs themselves, placed in the middle of nowhere.. the dirt and grime... the stains.. The rust.... The pitch black shopping mall with the ethereal music playing. That darkness and otherworldly feeling of being in another dimension. Every Silent Hill fan knows this place well.

My heart beat faster the deeper he went. Normally a jump scare would relieve the tension, but without one, it just continues to build the anxiety. Damn fine work as always! Would love to see more whether it be this or any other ideas you may be concocting.

I know this is an interesting addition to this deep lore, but sit back and think: Random hole under a tree with stairs that just go down until you find a random wooden door that leads to a sad looking brick room that’s connected to an elaborate shopping area This is what minecraft looks IRL 😝

I can’t get over how amazingly convincing this looks and sounds. So much attention to detail, making sure everything-lighting, textures, audio, everything-works together and is top notch. It’s such a simple concept but so well-done.

“I’m not supposed to be here.” Is such a simple yet terrifying line because it automatically means that you found something that you weren’t supposed to or you found something that was never meant for you. It also shows that you’re unwelcome.

Despite parallels with the backrooms, this is distinctly your own original project and its beyond awesome. Haven't seen the third episode yet but I'm already on edge.

You can really see how well the CGI has improved with this one and I'd love to see a behind the scenes! Only thing that set me off was the textures/material for the stairwell walls were mirrored (identical on both sides), but you would **really** have to be looking for it to actually notice. I dont know why but during the whole video i was thinking of how the first Europeans felt exploring the inside of the pyramids, going up and down through those long stairs and halls, i would imagine they felt something similar to this dude, like if they were entering a diferent dimension or something like that especially considering all the mysticism behind the pyramids and all the astrological and religious meaning they have. Every time the guy's camera glitched I tensed up, like oh god here it comes, but then it didn't come and the suspense just kept building. When he looked back and commented on the huge number of stairs he just descended, I had the thought that Kane could do pretty much whatever he wanted to the guy at that point since he surely would lack the stamina to frantically run back up all those stairs, but no... the guy simply stumbles on a luxury shopping mall, one of the last things anyone would have guessed. Epic, I LOVE it! This is really truly excellent work and I can't wait to see what comes next.

I don't know why but for me, the most subtly horrifying thing is how the stairs were slightly dismorphed at around 8:00. I absolutely love the attention to detail in kane's videos. The blend from IRL footage to CGI is phenomenal and unnoticeable. I was dreading a lame jumpscare all the way through, but you showed remarkable restraint by avoiding the expected. And yet I was super creeped out all the way through. This is fantastic work.

I just explored a four storey massive abandoned mall just like that a couple weeks ago. It was completely dark the whole time and had incredibly similar vibes. Crazy how well you captured the feeling. Liminal tourism is no longer fiction, urbex yall!
