I think you need to separate tv from real life. Somin herself has mentioned she acts a certain way on variety shows to make things entertaining, and it's not like she falls for these guys for real. She's there to do her job, which she's very good at since she's convinced so many people she's a lovefrog in real life too. We have no idea if she's seeing someone privately anyway, and even if she's single, she can still be happy ❤

You're not the only one. I also noticed that he always pays attention to Somin. At his first meeting with Somin in RM, he was asked if who does he think the secret police is. He answered "Somin-nim (Ms. Somin)" shyly. I mean why her? Hahaha! Seojun didn't even think of her, it was just Haneul. Also, when Somin was about to go in the RM prison he really had to check up on her and hold her wrists. This second time, AGAIN he assumed it was Somin who is the popular girl. Hahaha Also, when they were about to choose their partners prior entering the bus, Sechan said he wants to be paired with Somin. Haneul was like "Somin noona?!" with a frowned face hahahaha he was shookt! And laughed after Sechan confirmed it was the JUNG Somin. lol There are a lot of little things he did which I feel like subtle hints that he's fond of her.

i think in general, korean men don't like forward women who are more independent and less traditional. I mean it's the difference between somin and jihyo right; other than being from slightly different generations, they're also quite different in terms of how they are both personality and conservative-ness wise. as much as I absolutely adore jihyo (been watching running man since middle school ), people like somin, jessi, mijoo don't take shit from men and stand up for themselves, while jihyo (very much like me) kind of stands back and let others take the limelight and only steps forward when others expect her. it's like breaking rules vs strict rule following. almost like the difference between jae suk and jongkook. Both are different, but good different, and have their own talents. anyways i know this is abt jihyo vs somin or anything, but just wanted to point out that the korean culture is still quite traditional and regressive despite being such a developed, rich country (quite paradoxical to other countries actually).
