Kangaroo Island is also renowned for its honey bee sanctuary started in 1885 which has the world's only pure-bred colony of Ligurian (Italian) bees. I'm in the UK and used to have a Kangaroo Island queen.

Yup, went there, got a tour from the owner. He's retired now, and passed the company on to his son and his wife.
