Yeah, exactly. I remember that. And that was a solid Bengals d just like the 49ers d in this one. I think this more cerebral approach at offense the Chiefs have had to take over the past two years was actually a blessing in disguise and helped Mahomes up his game to a higher level. Nice analogy to Montana.

When teams started playing Cover 2 against the Chiefs they definitely had to change their approach. The ear mark of a great QB is one who can find open windows in the intermediate ranges of the field

So many clutch moments when the Chiefs were behind the 8 ball, so to speak. And against a very solid defense who had had their way. Mahomes is the guy you want to root for too.

The first play shown in this video is a good example of why the Chiefs are the Chiefs. This play happened right after MVS made a bad play and lost yards right? Although, in replay, I don't put that all on MVS. During the missed tackle he kind of got flung backwards and tried to make the best of bad momentum. Regardless of that, pause the video at 7 seconds in. Mahomes could have gone to Kelce, Watson, or MVS on that pass. Kelce clearly knew it wasn't coming to him, but he could have easily thrown it to Watson. It would have accounted for about the same amount of gain regardless of which guy Mahomes threw it to. To me this was a Reid moment, or maybe a Mahomes moment, saying, "I don't need this guy losing confidence right now." Now, that kind of thing in the regular season ain't that surprising i.e., guy drops a pass and the coach calls a play that goes right back to the guy that just dropped a pass. In the superbowl in OT, that's a different story.

I agree. He had a great game plan for about nearly 3 quarters, but I think the Chiefs and Reid made some adjustments and the offense finally gelled for the Chiefs in the final quarter and OT. To call him out specifically and make him the scapegoat for this loss is kind of selling out.

Also, where did the sky judge that the NFL instituded this year go to during the later half of the year and the playoffs? At 3:23 Pacheco clearly has a first down, but they mark him a half yard short. Chiefs should have challenged, but maybe they felt the 49ers were on the backfoot and decided just to handle it. I thought this was the whole point of the sky judge, fix clear issues without anyone having to use a challenge. That's after ingnoring the fact they missed a Kelce first down in the final drive of regulation that was so bad even CBS failed to notice for two plays.

Yeah, those rafts didn’t call anything did they and you didn’t teach a disrespectful team anything dude it just shows that the game is rigged and that the fucking refs held and didn’t call anything. If you look at the last play, the guy was upfield if you look at Debo, he was held and you guys were holding Bosa all day long, so you guys get the rest, kissing your ass you might as well have had the rest in yourpocket and give them a paycheck

Wrong team won that day. 49ers were pressuring his ass all game interceptions sacks tackles dominate defense. 49ers were the better team in paper and performance and “magically” he comes back and scores a td with 6 seconds left in the red zone. NFL and these scripts 🤦🏻♂️
