I know UK fans are grumpy today, but I hope they will take time to respect just how much of a WARRIOR Oscar Tschiebwe really is! I am in my late 50s and I don't expect ever to see such a rebounder again. I seriously doubt UK fans in their 20s will see such a player in their lifetimes. He goes on my all-time list with people such as Chuck Hayes and Keith Bogans; players who would run in front of a moving truck to get a ball.

@wildmouse5888
@wildmouse5888 Жыл бұрын
@@jonathanmorrison2225 Not even close! NO coach could make up for Reeves and Toppin going 2-22 from the field. UK had a very good game plan, but every team has to be able to make SOME open jump shots. Also, give credit where credit is due; Nowell was amazing.
@jonathanmorrison2225
@jonathanmorrison2225 Жыл бұрын
@@wildmouse5888 2-22 that’s why I said one of the worst games ever. Also it isn’t just this year. Cal has lost any ability to coach he had and losing confidence from the fans in the Bluegrass at lightning speed. And yea Nowell played great. One guy shouldn’t beat a team of what’s supposed to be all Americans. Too much $$ is being spent on coaches and players for this kind of result.
@wildmouse5888
@wildmouse5888 Жыл бұрын
@@jonathanmorrison2225 So you are not complaining about UK specifically; just the college game in general. Who is your hall-of-fame replacement for hall-of-fame Cal? Going for the current shooting star of a coach is what gave us Gillespie. UK isn't just any major coaching job; it eats people. Eddie Sutton was a great coach for decades and the UK job made him climb into a bottle to the point of near-death.

Texas fan and always liked the k-state athletic program. One of the few that are always respectful and dont claim to be our rival like others but give us some great games. My only question is where do they find the crazy undersized elite players? Deuce who I hope to see in one of the leagues, and this guy who gave us fits as well. Congrats on advancing and good luck, I know the little apple is hyped.

My favorite thing about our school is that we’ll… it’s Kansas… and the rest of the country doesn’t find the state attractive like we do here, so the bigs go elsewhere. Kstate has to find the elite talent all of the typical schools overlook. And that’s how we stay competitive 😂

The difference between kansas loss and kansas state win is that kstate players had so much confidence and never stopped attacking the basket. So successful attacking the basket it became a clinic. Kansas played conservative and never took advantage of their lack of size inside. Kansas needs a big man inside that can play defense and score. And rebound. Not a small forward. Also kstate never stopped playing ferocious defense. Even when they got behind. Kansas seemed tentative. Kstate has played tough teams in the conference their ready for a championship run. Because of their ferocious attacking the basket and tough defense. Their primed and ready and skilled and confident. Well coached. Good luck kstate represent the state of Kansas. Sorry Jayhawks maybe next year.

The main reason I thought this game could go either way, was because of how the previous game (2014 Round of 64) went. Also, UVA getting upset was a factor from this standpoint: Tony Bennett as a coach had never coached against John Calipari and both coaches known for being defensive minded were susceptible to teams who had creative guard play.

you got at least 5 guys in this game who can enter the draft this year and get picked up: Johnson, Nowell, Wallace, Tshiebwe, and Reeves. Most impressed by Nowell and his natural point-guard mentality.

I challenge anyone to explain how it is acceptable to have only one tournament win in 4 years as a Kentucky head coach? Horrible season in comparison with expectations. I really want to hear the excuses. Name me a coach who does less with the talent they're given. And let's just be clear. I'm not blaming the players. He always says if you want to blame someone blame me. Clearly it is a coaching failure.

I can give you a few reasons..1) if they fire Cal, who would they hire? there really isnt that top level impressive HC at a smaller school they could hire away...2) UK and their fans have fallen in love with the promise that comes with a top recruiting class..no matter how disappointing a year they have, their fans can always fall back on "yeah well, we have XYZ coming in next year and they are legit"...no other coach is gonna be able to come in and duplicate how he recruits..and UK fans are gonna expect that level of recruiting every single year out of any coach they get going forward

@@carsonc29 they could do what kstate did and hire a longtime assistant, but firing calipari would be the dumbest possible thing to do

@@carsonc29 idk what expectations have to do with anything considering tang has shown a lot of promise, just beat uk, and has stacked up quad 1 wins in the big 12. I was just pointing out that there are other options but none better than calipari

@@cjsteg3623 what I meant by expectations is Tang can make the tourney every year and not get to the S16 for multiple years and his job will 100%$ safe because KSU isnt a program that expect FF every season...UK does..UK is gonna want a guy with HC experience and success if they fired Cal..Tang could have had a sub par year and his job is safe..
