Wasn't a huge Ye fan before but that Yeezus Tour stop in Toronto (I went the second night on the 23rd where Drake actually came on stage and performed a couple of songs) was a top tier performance (the guitar intro and piano outro on "Black Skinhead" was a personal highlight). Actually enjoyed his "Runaway" rant (Lorde borrowed this during her "Melodrama" tour for her song "Liability" where she'd talk to the audience in the middle of the song). During his rant he said "When you say this mountain I know you said to yourself, 'I made a good decision to buy this ticket, I am very happy with my purchase'," he also said during that rant, since it was the last show of 2013, "'I think 10 years ahead. I'm not thinking about 2013 anymore, I'm thinking about 2024, 24 hours a day"; and "there's two types of people in this world: dreamers and haters. And the difference is haters gave up on their dreams." lol

Hey Prof! Your perspective was really interesting to hear and It hit me particularly strong because Kanye’s Yeezus tour was my first concert ever. Something all lovers of music will remember forever. Now I’m 25, was 13 then and man time flies. It’s interesting for how an album heralded as a “yeezus knockoffs” gets a tour setup that reminds me of the Yeezus mountain structure he performed it.

AVAA! Always love hearing people talk about their concert experiences. I saw Travis Scott at the Delta Center in November and it was a great show. I wanted to get the I KNOW shirt, but they were sold out of all shirts in my size (I would later learn that the show set a merch record for the venue, which is very cool). For some reason, Teezo didn’t do his opening set, which I was excited for (though not as much as Travis obviously), and that threw me off for a bit, but once it got a few songs in, I was having a good time. I‘ve been a fan of his since 2016, so it was very exciting to get to see him live. I haven’t seen Kanye live and probably never will, but I did see Kendrick at the same arena (then known as the Vivint Arena) in August 2022 and that was awesome. It was my first concert and probably the best experience I’ve had. I went with my friend (who works at the arena) and after both of the openers (Tanna Leone and Baby Keem, the latter of whom was getting almost as much crowd hype as Kendrick), someone else who works at the arena came down and gave my friend and me floor passes. I couldn’t believe it! The show was already great, but that just made it so much better. Being within feet of one of the biggest rappers right now (and making eye contact with him during Money Trees) was a life-changing experience, especially for a first concert. Kendrick easily wins for me.

AVAA! I saw the BBC Yeezus tour in NYC. Top3 show for me (Radiohead at Grant Park for KidA up there too). We were standing next to the VIP area in middle of arena. Seated there were Jamie Foxx, Anna Wintour, Jennifer Hudson, etc, but most interestingly Jack White sitting next to a dude that looked Elvis Costello. I just thought it was so cool that Jack White would go see Kanye. BTW there is a great Dissect podcast episode talking about the narrative chapter structure of the Yeezus show.

I was at the show too in section 109! Wish I could have bumped into you and told you how much I love your videos! I was pretty close to the stage and thought the concert was pretty good. Thought the music was way too loud, couldn't hear the lyrics at all. Stage was cool. Wish he sang his songs the full way through. Also thought the crowd was lame and that although Travis is a eccentric performer idk what he did to be considered the best performer of all time.

Yeezus the first concert I ever went to, in Phx with Kendrick as the opener. I don’t like bragging but I brag about that when there’s an opportunity.

i went to this show and it was great, but there were 4 dudes in the aisle around us that were there till Goosebumps and it was really annoying, got pit tickets for the second show though so its gonna be awesome
