Unlike the unleaked version that was meant to be the first track on the unreleased album "Thank God For Drugs", this version has no Kanye vocals during the verse sections.

fun fact! the instrumental was going to be used as a interlude after Blood on the Leaves on a OG/DEMO version of Yeezus. after the interlude, it would lead into New Slaves.

thank god for drugs could’ve easily been one of ye’s best if rick ruben hadn’t convinced him to cut it down to 10 tracks. dont get me wrong, i absolutely love yeezus but tgfd makes more sense and honestly has some of his best unreleased work such as this song, cant get over me, hollywood, nobody to love, perfect female dog, good things don’t last, etc. my man literally scraped so many bangers that could’ve easily made yeezus a much better album. i refuse to believe that rick actually listened to the album and thought that “yeah these songs are unnecessary. get rid of them”

Nah. There are some videos from the yeezus tour where you can hear like 2 minutes of this version playing before it cuts to on sight. It also leaked with clearance tags over it.

the song mixing kinda weird, ye vocals sound wayyy to clean and the beat too quiet during his part. Needs more low end. Ofc its just a leak so prolly wasnt finished anyways lol

Yeah the mixing is def pretty weird, but I'm pretty sure that's just because this version is just mixed to be played over speakers at live shows. There was a way more finished version that was made before this one that has actual verses.

@@marwanitoh a version does exist with unfinished demo verses, however hasn’t leaked and likely won’t for a while. Song was never fully finished with real verses. Song was later used as the intro to Yeezus tour, but without any verses as they were unfinished. This version of the song was made for sample clearance iirc, just happened to leak
