I knew this song for quite a while. Although I liked the whole album in general, this song never stood out to me. Then the worst heartbreak of my life happened. My feeling of grief was indescribable that day. Some hours after the break up I suddendly felt an urge to listen to this song. I instantly felt peace when the song started. I guess I didn't feel alone with my feelings anymore because of the song. Maybe that's just my interpretation but you can hear a lot of suffering in Kanyes voice. Especially the long outro represents an emptyness that you feel in such situations. And the last chorus with the words "Please say you will, for real, I pray you will" really emphasizes the feeling of desperation that Kanye must have felt. Lastly the beeping in the back ground symbolizes that this isn't just a simple feeling. From a subjective perspective the heartbreak feels like you're on the verge of death. A true masterpiece in my opinion.
