I think of all the times as a daughter, I've questioned why my dad is so difficult with many of the things I wanted, the mindsets I held, the people I wanted to hold on to and growing up I've realised a lot of that shit was so toxic for me. As someone whos lived and learnt of some of the evil in this world, all he wants is to protect his daughters.

This song is breathtaking. The lyrics, the message is very deep. The part that struck me the most is the music portion of it. The chord progression struck a chord in me that made me think of some special moments people in my life. The chord changes from :36 to 1:09 made me cry honestly because my best friend William "Billy" Warren Wilkins taught me this progression when I first started playing piano. It gave me cills and I rewind this part 53 times and played with it. He would play progressions like this and I would just listen and be mesmerized. Deep dark chords but so beautiful. I know he was playing from a different place because he was smiling and at ease when he would play. When he got off they keys he would be so shy and scared of the world. He was by best friend and I miss him so much. I hope my hands and mind can be blessed like my friend. I can't wait to see you again and the ones who are not with me anymore. Thank you for the reminder Kanye and I pray that you defeat what your going through and keep using music as your vessel for comfort. I know you don't know me but I hope this reaches you. I listened to this song yesterday repeatedly, and I couldn’t stop crying everytime. It has such a strong, powerful meaning behind it, especially as it was written for his two daughters North and Chicago. What caused me to cry so intensely is due to the message he says and speaks of about men in this world, how callous, ruthless and evil they can be to young women. How they’re always scheming and are unable to really take care of a woman the way she ought to be. Without knowledge, I ended up with a guy who mistreated me so much and it breaks my heart thinking of how badly that hurt my father. It breaks my heart knowing young girls (if they’re not truly aware or fully understand how men work) have to go through this. We truly are the more loving and compassionate sex. What an incredible, heart-felt dong this way by Kanye. I will treasure it always and replay it, everytime a man tries to fool me into thinking I should get with him, when I should not.
