I love Kara Walker's work. Her work speaks to all of the undocumented, overlooked and out of sight awfulness that occured on the American soil towards African Americans. These issues continue to plague some white Americans who think they are superior. Thank you Ms. Walker for your gift.

I feel really blessed I got to see this exhibit. It was painful on so many levels and so informative. Her work is so powerful and so necessary.

I think she received more hate from inside the African American circle of artists than from any other group in the world of art.

Art and artists are scams regardless. The “famous” people are pick out by the rich people to aid in tax evasion

Nah, Black people can't be racist. Racism is a construct built around being inferior to white people... Black people can be prejudice though.

How's that, talking about the passes. Wasn't like us whites treated black people as equal was it.

It’s not racist. It’s simply a documentation of a time previous to now. These aren’t present ideas but more just an artistic history book of what life was like during the “slave climate”. Educational if you will. It unveils a lot of things within that time period that white people tend not to discuss and or black people tend not to know about that time period. This is a realistic documentation of the everyday events that occurred during that time and it reveals the nature of those who were in power.
