Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this KZfaq channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Some trivia about the war: my Dad served twice over there and was treated alwful when he came back. My Dad loved the children there and we sent candy etc. For the kids. He fought for the Vietnamese who needed freedom. I have pics of the country and people there etc., very special. He said it was a beautiful country, glad ya'll enjoyed it there and the fact it's a free country. Blah blah blah, I'll stop now. Lol. Love to both of you!

So interesting to see war history from a different perspective right? My Vietnamese friends gave me an insight based on their perspective and honestly, this was the same way with the Filipino-American War because I learned Philippine history in the Philippines then moved to the U.S. at 12 years old and things were completely different when I learned it again. I'm glad you guys are open minded!

Oh my goodness! Kara and Nate, where do I start with this video! I love how you both capture the beauty and uniqueness of every place that you visit. Right from Nate’s coffee wake up call for Kara 💝 to Kara guiding Nate through the traffic as he filmed 🥰 to your different perspectives on the market 😅 down to date night in such a unique place ☺️ But you know what truly makes you guys so lovely, is that you both take time to really listen to people, even in the way you took in what you saw at the museum and the way you felt for the people, the way you felt for the tour guide, the way you felt what the owner or Noir was saying, the way you felt for the staff at Noir...you guys go above and beyond what they say...you actually listen to them above all the words in your conversation...I hope I’m making sense...and I think that’s what makes you one of my favourite couples on YT 🤗🤗 Love you both! And sending a big hug from across the World 🤗🤗 P.S. Love your delicate aeroplane pendant Kara, so pretty ☺️

I can understand getting the perspective from the museum there. The best way to learn about it though is to talk to those who lived it. My other half is a Vietnam Vet. Unfortunately, he has to live with it and the aftermath for life. It was hard for them there and hard when they came home. What was done to both sides, both by the other and their own, was criminal. It is part of history that should never be forgotten. And to this day, it is still labeled a "Police Action" instead of the war that it was.

This makes me miss ho chi Minh so much! I lived there 15 months until last year and it is so amazing. Vietnam is awesome and the food there is amazing!! Made me so nostalgic to watch this and recognize a lot of the streets and places. I highly recommend visiting Ninh Binh in the south, so beautiful!

For a history nerd I want to visit Saigon and see the sites and the Vietcong museum with the traps so I can learn more about what it was actually like in the Vietnam War

Avery The Cuban-American Visit and learn, but remember, the displays and exhibits at the government operated museums in Vietnam are like asking the Castro regime to explain the history of Cuba over the last 60 years.

Definitely a history lesson is needed. It's sad that Nate felt "shame". Nate should take what he saw at that museum with some skepticism and realize that much of it will be anti-American propaganda. It worked. Nate felt shame of being an American while visiting the museum. There is much more to learn about the Viet Nam conflict. War is horrible for all sides involved. The South Vietnamese people suffered horrific atrocities by the North Vietnamese. Americans helped many of them escape the horror of war. Before being ashamed Nate, find out what brought the war on. Vietnam veterans have been vilified and many of them never came back to their families. That is the real shame for an American to feel.
