疑うこと、否定することは簡単だしそれだけで自分が勝ったような錯覚をしてしまう。なんでもそうだけど認めて血肉にしてこそ本当の知恵だと思う。いい動画でした。DVD欲しいな。

Wonderful to watch Masters of different styles comparing and sharing techniques without trying to humiliate each other. This is the true spirit of martial arts.

I never get tired of watching him stepping forward with that punch. There's no telegraphing at all! I also would like to know which books he said he researched into. What's interesting is that instead of being taught he had to do the research himself.

Japanese they don't bullshit like Chinese. They learn and adapt that is why their technique is flawless. Even Bruce Lee learn from Karate, and Judo, plus Wing Chung to create Jetkungdo .

Well, i have discovered the complete version of staff disarm somwhere on the internet, and/or they thought me at my dojo, so it's not one of the most forgotten techniques in general. There's that staff defense in kanku sho, enpi, jitte and probably somewhere else, and it's relatively common knowledge, or at least i've always thought so. However your statement is overall correct. Too many applications have been lost and have to be researched separatedly from your common training, wich is a shame.

K L Just the opposite bro. Japanese techniques tend to be stiff and dogmatic, relying only on sight. There are plenty of ways to counter that staff-counter, but the Japanese martial arts are always about that one-hit kill, never letting go of your weapon, always looking forward. Check out Miyahira-sensei’s vids with Naka-sensei. He was being nice but he was the only guy who can see that oizuki coming. And yes, there are some bullshitters in the community no doubt, but there are a lot of people at the summit of their martial arts journey. And everything Bruce Lee was referencing was from old Chinese philosophy.

That’s not to say the perfect invisible Oizuki does not exist. It just depends on how you spend your resources

Any of the styles has its pros an cons. Naka Sensei is only making use of them. They must be friends so none of them is determined to hurt. To make the picture full, the disadvantages of Karate could have been presented. Hopefully in the next video. I look forward to see it. Paul,68, fan of martial arts.

5:39 just a split second there but yes the way you handle weapons is by glueing yourself to opponent without retreating. That's why in Goju-ryu we are taught to push forward on the attacker.

Karate-Do Kyohan. It's a difficult book to understand unless you free your mind from modern JKA and start from scratch (you won't lose what you've learned, but you'll have to be open to it) Actually, finding a good teacher is better.

Matt Mosley it seems that BJJ is just a modern form of jujutsu. Jujutsu gained quite a negative perception among the general public (something to do with the Meiji Restoration and westernization), so Jigoru Kano created Judo. From what I've gathered, Judo is just jujutsu with a different name to avoid association with an unpopular art. Kano of course contributed his interpretations of jujutsu teachings and fundamentals. From there one of Kano's top students, Misuyo Maeda, was sent overseas to Brazil and that's where he met the Gracies. They went on to form a "softer" version of Judo (BJJ) with more emphasis on fighting from the ground. You may already know all this, but just in case you didn't. Of course there's also much more to the story.
@GokuInfintysaiyan

Sam Valentine Well judo focused more on the harder throws and ground while aikijutsu focuses on the atemi and small joints and "minute-moves" A balance of the 2 would be the most accurate recreation of jujutsu
