Thank you - mine was leaking too from the same crack. I had replaced the o-ring, thinking that was the issue, and the clip wasnt holding either. But after fixing both those issues, I saw the crack, and found your video. I couldnt work out how to remove the clip until I saw your video - I tapped mine out with a thin nail and a hammer. Thanks mate - but its shocking that the K4 has this issue - mine is about 18 months old. You'd think Karcher would use better quality parts than this.

New 'back foot' arrived this afternoon and fitted in minutes. Tight fit but persistence paid off as well as a bit of hep with a wooden peg to knock the elbow into the body of the machine. Thank you!

Thanks for providing this video as my Karcher K4 is leaking water from the same plastic pipe. Switched on the pressure washer which is working but no water coming out the gun. One thing I’ll find difficult is removing the metal pin from the elbow but will look into an easy way of doing that.

The Amazon link in the video description is showing the part as currently unavailable but I found that Googling "karcher back foot" and the official part number of 9.002-437.0 found me find a few places selling it. I found the cheapest for a genuine Karcher part that was definitely in stock, with price inc delivery, was eBay (for UK delivery). Just ordered one for just over £17 inc delivery as my refurbished K4 Full Control just had the 'hose comes off in use' problem after 18 months of ownership.. and I haven't used it that much since purchase.

My k4 is leaking badly from there but I couldn’t see a crack when I removed the back foot. Have ordered the one from amazon as it is now back in stock. Hopefully this will fix my issue. Cheers for the video!

Thank you so much mate, was getting really frustrated with it just ordered the new part. Very thankful as was about to get a new jet wash, why karcher can’t make them properly to last is a mystery they don’t seem to last longer then 1 year before something packs up!

the pipe that the elbow clips onto splits aswel and and presents you with the same problem very heavy leaks inside the body of the k4 full control but you can also buy these pipes in alloy too and it will not leak again the parts are a little more expensive but worth it . ive done repairs to both pipes on the k4 full control and both are a very easy fix

Thanks for the video. I actually took my whole washer apart to then realise it was the elbow joint leaking. Wierdly mine already has the metal elbow and it was never replaced before. However it's leaking from male end. I actually don't think it's going in fully or I have a dodgy o ring. Can't see any physical fault with the elbow itself. I've ordered an o ring kit in the first instance to see if that will fix it. I would really like to see a picture of the elbow connected to the male end to see how far it's supposed to go in. If anyone can point me in the right direction for that, I will be very grateful. Thanks.

Karcher is now the poor man in Pressure washers, it used to be the best, not anymore. My K4 is less than 18 months old with the same issue and its impossible to get Karcher to respond. Its over a month now just to get the basic emails exchanged... I will get it repaired sell it and buy a Nilfisk machine.

The problem I have after 45 mins of trying it won’t align with the two holes so I cannot insert the metal clip. I have tried everything and not the elbow will not pull out of the body. HELP!!

Hi. When you took the back foot off to expose the male end plastic pipe that comes out of the rear of the pressure washer, does that pipe move left and right? I’m wondering if I need to replace that as well as the elbow as my pipe moves. Any thoughts?

On the new models (bought one last week) this fault has been rectified and that joint is made of metal.

that Plastic elbow comes in what models? K4 model 2017; 2019 and 2021? and what about K5 models 2019 and 2021 brings that plastic part too?

I had to buy another c clamp as my pressure hose kept shooting off. Now I’ve got the clip I can’t seem to get the hose bit to connect. I’ve tried prizing the clamp (the small metal clip) but I can’t seem to get the hose in. Any ideas?

My K4 is of 2019. I have recieved the replacement part but I can not get it on for the last few millimeters and can not push in the safety pin. I have used Vaseline and even tried with a hammer to hit it on its place. It seems it simply does not fit. It looks like the end of the tube has another shape and does not fit in the connector. Does anybody has an idea how to reach the last few millimeters to put in on the tube of the machine so I can put the safety pin on its place?

Every time I turn the foot back to straight it’s pushing the metal elbow out. I have my partner pushing the elbow on until properly in and level for some reason it keeps pushing it off. Any help appreciated

I purchased the metal joint but was still spurting water from the joint when i replaced it. Was there meant to be a rubber seal with the new part as i.feel thats probley all thats missing or something simple like that. Any chance of a pic of what joint should look like before putting it back into.the backfoot, lome if theres meant to be a seal on it thanks

Hi I have had the same issue. Have purchased this part the metal elbow and back rest. When I put the lance hose in, does the pin for that part go inside or outside. Absolute nightmare trying to fit the pin in to stop the lance hose from popping off. Can you help? Fellow welshy

I have this very problem, that valve leaking but I can’t remove the valve from the back foot and didn’t want to risk breaking it. Will it just pull out or does it need to be released in some way?

Have Karcher resolved this issue on new K4 machines, they obviously know it’s an issue?

Mine just split, after only using a handful of times, can’t believe how crap these Karchers are. Having probs with crappy plastic Lance connections as well. Never buy Karcher again
