How to Strip down the karcher k620m pressure washer case and the pump
to access the pressure switch. Remove the pressure switch spool valve
and clean the port.
Notice karcher have more than one K620m so check your barcode... although they do all share many common parts !

My 21 year old (!) 620m had been dead for close to 10 years but I couldn't bring myself to throw it out. Came across this video today and after some difficulty getting the cover off, I followed your instructions and it's all working like new again! Thank you.

Many, many thanks for the video. My Karcher 620M which I have had for ten years, stopped working at the weekend. Followed your video instructions using scotchbrite and WD40 instead of wire wool. Re assembled and now it works like new. Great video.

Thank you for this video. My 620 is 12 years old and has been professionally repaired in the past at a cost of £60. It only gets used 2 or 3 times a year. The most difficult part was removing the pressure switch spool valve from the port. With the help of some lime scale remover and WD40 it came out with a little bit of persuasion. Working perfect now.

Hi. I have a 620M and last year it wouldn't work so cost me £35 for repair, even though I stripped it all myself. Thanks to your video, I was easily able to repair it myself this year for free. Great Stuff. Come on you Spurs!!!

Such a simple fix for a major problem. I now have three working washers and it took me just 20 minutes each....once the WD40 has done its stuff. Thanks a bunch for a great piece of advice

My god, this is so hilarious...not the video but the fact that an 'APPROVED' Karcher dealer/repair centre demanded a fee of 60 euro before they looked at my machine. They then proceeded to tell me my pump was knackered and they would dispose of it for a fee. Following the viewing of this video, and reading the comments from viewers, I bought a dermel + kit and I have repaired my knackered pump. low and behold !!!! WHOOOSH !!!! yup you guessed it ....knackered Karcher Kleans up again !!!! ( I should be working for a Tabloid ) ha ha ha thats hundreds saved so Kudos to you for this Video Many thanks.

It is possible to unscrew the piston's stem and replace it with a machine screw to extract a seized piston (I used a crowbar). Thanks for all the information.

Great Vid! Did just as u said took about 3-4 day for the WD40 to do it's magic now it works as good as new! never gonna put cleaning chemical in it again as i believe this is what caused the valve to fur up & jam.

Thanks for a very informative video. I have accumulated three of these 620M washers over time and now they all seem to have the same problem. They work fine when the lance is set on low pressure setting. When the lance is turned increase the pressure to max, the unit switches off momentarily and starts again. It then keep on doing this until the lance is turned back to low pressure. I have checked the excess current valve and replaced the o-rings on it but this made no difference. I also opened up the cylinder head and the 6 valves seem fine. I have also checked out the lances and these have no blockages. Any advice on diagnosing the problem would be appreciated.

this is the gearbox oil (ep80 or karcher pump oil)... if its gone milky it has moisture in it so you should be replacing oil, water seals and disturbed o-rings. stand the motor on the fan and pour fresh oil into the gearbox like filling a cup. assemble the pump while the motor remains in a verticle position.. TIP: wash out the gearbox with diesel to remove old oil.

Its a good idea to take the spill valve shaft off then u can use a long bolt and a spacer like a small socket and washers to pull the valve out.

Hi there, thank you so much for the Video, it is a really good repair description and I had a good success as the engine is running now. Unfortunately if I press the trigger for the waterpistol no pressure is coming out just the water of the waterhose. Do you have an Idea what to clean or change next? Thanks a lot again for the great Video! Greetings

Just stripped mine down completely, lot of corrosion to sort; thought it was that valve and now seen your excellent video; Valve overnight is being penetrating oiled to free it. Question; who supplies the chemical tank and top control plastic knob.

Hi, Between 20 and 27 seconds into the video we point out 3 release catches under the machine... use a screw driver to pick out these pins (but not remove) and the yellow cover is then loose...

NO pressure ! so the pump is either not pumping or all the water is internally circulating.... if the dump valve has been double checked then its got to be a pumping issue.... do the pistons reciprocate ? are all 6 pressure valves clear of grit ?

Sir, when cleaning the port do you vacuum out the area afterwards or should compressed air be used? Also I purchased a used washer so I don't know if the following characteristic is normal or not. When powered on and the trigger not depressed on the gun, the pump will turn on for about three seconds then shut off for about three seconds and repeat the process. When I press the trigger and use the washer it continuously stays on. Is this normal? Should I do any other service while I have it open?

After releasing my spill valve so many more times than I care to remember. I think this time I have over done it with the drill & wire wool. Machine never reaches pressure and motor never stops. Water out of Lance does not change from mains water pressure. Cylinder housing too expensive to replace. Is it possible to use oversized O ring to fix again ?

Found this very useful and successfully repaired my 620m, though as we are in a hard water area I guess it'll do it again. One tip: the video stated it can be hard to pull out the spring loaded valve, and using pliers or similar on the shaft may damage it. What I did was tighten an electric drill chuck on to it. Didn't power the drill or anything, but the chuck is something to grip to pull the valve out. Didn't damage the shaft. However what I did not manage to do was remove the knob for adjusting the soap fluid flow. Anyone get a suggestion on how to do that without destroying it?
