It’s normal to not hit in korea , with much respect but all the good groups always have a few fans in korea bc korean fans only like childish songs like sha sha etc and I can’t understand why!! groups like kard monsta x got7 bts ..etc most of there fans are international and they respect there music there efforts and everything they do , but in korea they just ignore them or just don’t care about them ,, they juat like songs with childish con and few girls acting cute , this’s really make me angry !! Without hate this is the truth that all the international fans know !!!! Yeah i forget to say i love the both of you and i love your chanal (:

I talk in general that the korean fans only likes songs with childish cute things and don’t appreciate the groups like bts got7 BAP monsta x these groups have so low popularity in korea but internationally they are really huge, that’s really sad to be appreciated outside your country more than inside !!!!!!!

Sometimes I think people forget that KARD are rookies. DSP isn’t a big company so they’re limited in the type of exposure they can give their artists. Despite the fact that KARD are merely just rookies, they’re doing well. Their songs are also very westernised so of course they wouldn’t chart too well on the Korean charts but like Danny said, as long as you’re making money, it’s not a big deal. Still it would be nice to get noticed down the line because they’re still Korean and it’s important for them to cement themselves in their own home market. However, it’s not a big deal if they don’t right now. Look at BTS, they did just fine with the international fans supporting them prior to getting recognition in Korea. I think small companies have figured out that if you make an impact internationally, some people in Korea will eventually notice plus there’s also way more money to be made in foreign markets maybe that’s why DSP isn’t really giving KARD songs that suit the Korean public and releasing ones that suit foreign tastes.

it's funny seeing this comment I basically just said the same thing to someone with your same username but they had a different pic, I had to do a double-take cause that person was basically saying that KARD would never make it because Koreans don't liike Americanized music and because the boys aren't into the girls in the video..lol

Exactly. I can't remember if this is true or not but I think I saw somewhere that the international market is larger than the koean market for Kpop. I know KARD is popular in Brazil amd they've already toured twice internationally. Considering they are a rookie group, its impressive that people even know who they are. They might not do well in Korea but they are setting themselves up well for other markets. Also, with the recent scandals for Korean music services, they'll probably make more money from Spotify

It's interesting to see that DSP is now viewed as a small company. DSP was one of the so-called Big 3 back then in the 1st generation with Sechskies + Fin.K.L (in which Lee Hyori debuted), and then they continued to go strong in the early 2nd generation with SS501 + KARA. Until late 2nd generation, their only hope is KARA, but then Jiyoung and Nicole left the group. With a hasty decision, they decided to make Baby KARA and add Youngji to the group, which didn't last too long, since the original 3 members (by assuming that Hara and Jiyoung are part of the original, even though they're not in the debut lineup) actually didn't want to continue since 2 of the original members left. After that, DSP went downhill and started catching attention with KARD since the group fills in the entertainment industry gap for co-ed group concept, which was not that successful back then when Kpop was not as popular as it is now.

The word Apego means to be to attached to someone, I think the MV shows the guys as dead inside, they don't love the girl anymore, but JiWoo and Somin don't let them go, even knowing that there is no more love.

I feel like KARD are the type of korean band you’d show to your friends if they’re not into Kpop and the whole shebang. Plus I think they cater more to the 25+ audience, moi included, they’re in a league of their own and you don’t feel silly or too old to be their fan 😚 I really appreciate them for that ❤️

For those asking about kard on melon chart They debuted on 97th and number one in real time search at the exact time they release their album but the next hour they vanished from everywhere . Well it is sooooo sad.. i hope koreans will stop sleeping on them someday maybe who knows

Well you can’t really blame them bc koreans doesn’t really like such Americanized music and kard doesn’t really promote that much in Korea too... they have been travelling more often internationally. The boys are also not really into them as you can feel from the vid.

you do realize they're still rookies right and most rookies don't do that well in Korea or much less internationally, the album was number one on iTunes K-POP ALBUMS , and I'm sure it'll do well on the billboard World chart. they've also got almost a million views in 5 hours (combined on both channels).also they have been really profitable most rookie groups don't see any money for the first year or two. They're from a smaller company it'll take time but I'm sure they'll do well in Korea as well, also since when do Koreans not like Americanized music??

Their musical concpet is not really big in Korea. But I think thats okay. Cuz they are absolutely killing the international market. Like. They have already done a world tour. Not many Kpop groups can say that they did that...

I think kard's dances are so different from most other groups' because they're co-ed and have to do choreography that works well for both male and female members. :)

They won rookie of the year at AAA! But yeah Mama are snakes, it's not like they haven't reorganised the categories for co-ed before, in 2014 they had "Best New Artist" where AKMU got nominated.

I liked the concept and yeah their dancing is fun to watch. Apego is a spanish and portuguese word although i don't know if it means the same, in spanish apego means attachment like in an emotional and unhealthy way.

The thing about the MV and song is that it’s shockingly good and like you said, the choreo and genre is too distinct. I didn’t expect it to do well on charts but it’s still depressing to hear that they’re not even on the first page or top 100.

I wish you would not be offended by my opinion but most koreans' taste of music is so weird. Top songs at charts are mostly ballads which do not have a uniqueness, songs are similar to each other. Some top songs are like songs for kindergarden pupils. Most very good quality or unique songs stay very low. IMHO

well, the same could be said about american music too. it's mostly rap and pop songs with zero meaning that gets high up in the charts.. and don't tell me they don't sound similar to each other. i guess people have different tastes, i personally would rather listen to ballads with meaning over some pop song about sex

base on the lyrics it's probably that the guys are already sick of their relationship thus wants to break-up but since the girls are too obsessed with them(like what apego means as attraction/addiction to someone) does not want to let them go and eventually killed them(the reason for the "i'm calling you, you don't answer, i apologize" part) since the women might be psychopaths...

Apego is a word in Portuguese that means attachment in a not so good way. When we say someone is apegado to something, we say in a sense that it's better if let it go. So I think the concept is based on that, being too attach to someone that becomes unhealthy to that person and to you.

DSP is focusing more on the international markets for KARD it seems. They've had a lot of concerts and showcases in different countries already despite being pretty much unknown in Korea.
